    2021 Silverado Medium Duty

2021 Silverado Medium Duty Order Guide is out. So far, minimal changes. Stabilitrak, a shift-to-neutral-when-stopped feature for the Allison transmissions, and pillar mounted spotlights. Not seeing the rumored gas engine or 22.5" wheel options yet. Production starts 11/30/2020, and it is likely there will be updates before that time.

Still built at Navistar? Wondering if I can get one of these AWD Chassis for a class C RV. All I see out there are Fords...

Yes, Navistar builds them at Springfield. GM offers specific motorhome RPO's for these trucks, but I have not seen a 'Super C' on one of these chassis yet. Matter of time I figure, because they will make a great one.

I want a 10 sleeper, and would like a little outside bbq with it. I can ditch all the TV's. Hopefully by mid next year I will have made a decision. The Duramax would be perfect

Yes, very hot, due to cabin fever. Been reading a lot about RV's settled on a non luxury class C,(who wants to drive around with their granite counter tops?) primarily due to service at your local Ford/Dodge or Ford dealer, but the big thing is that you want to get one that is lightly used, apparently new ones come with a lot of manufacturing defects that the new owner works out. Sort of like getting Windows XP.

Meanwhile, these GM trucks will not be Used for another 3 years or so. I am yet to rent one to drive somewhere first to decide if I even want one

For us, we have children and we would like them to see America before they grow out of the house, so we buy it, rent it out and in 10, perhaps 15 or so years sell it when kids are out the house. Then sell it.
There is a good airbnb type market there to lease it out from time to time if we wish, but I do not want strangers knowing their lactating ones on my bed, so its not going to happen, most likely...

A Wise Man and Choice. Might just be some of your Own Cabin Fever talking.

Don't get me wrong, I have a Family Cabin that I use every Weekend as a get away. Towing the Boat to the landing, the 12 mile Boat Ride, it takes about 1 hour. But I am not fighting traffic for 6-8 hours, not listening to Parties 2 rows down, not sharing Beaches, waiting in lines or getting there and having nothing to do. But then again, not seeing New Sights every weekend and there is always something that Has to be Done.

It would have been cool to see them back for school-bus duty in Blue Bird or Thomas Buses format...

I wonder if the Allison transmission still do the same familiar sound like in that clip?

You know, Your solution is perhaps more reasonable. If you need to do the touristic thing, you could always rent that RV. Traffic battles are not cool. Plus for us in San Diego, there is Los Angeles to the North, Mexico to the south and the Deserts to the East.

Its never fun to get out of town by road, unless that is your destination.

The little hills around here, (which people call mountains) might be a worthwhile cabin solution. There is water storage ponds/reservoirs that people call lakes around the hills too.

I have been driving a 6500 short wheelbase dump around. Needless to say the ride is pretty rough empty, but I will bet a 4500 or 5500 with a long wheelbase would make a great motorhome chassis, particularly with the air ride rear suspension. These trucks are really solid feeling and have a great turning radius.

Does anyone here have a bed tent and already tried to install? I would be needing anytime soon so I was thinking is it easy to install and is it durable enough to withstand windy places? if there's awning available as well?
