Cadillac unveiled the all-new XT5 today, the first of four new crossovers that will bear the XT badge in the coming years. The XT5 replaces the current crossover, the SRX, with lighter and more efficient materials, more space, a new V6 engine, transmission and shifter, chassis and new technology, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Most importantly, the XT5 sharpens the brand’s design focus on “modern craftsmanship and the artistic integration of technology,” explains Andrew Smith, Cadillac’s Executive Director of Global Design. The XT5’s exterior design is much improved over the SRX, featuring a more aggressive stance, well-rounded presence and sharper lines—all to be expected in a major overhaul of the vehicle.

Looks like it has the CT6's mirror.

Official Pres Release: Cadillac XT5 Initiates New Series of Cadillac Luxury Crossovers

    • Lightweight construction elevates efficiency and driving performance
    • All-new design and structure increases interior space without adding bulk
    • New V6 engine and advanced all-wheel drive
    • New tech includes rear camera mirror, Apple Carplay & Android auto compatibility, new CUE system

CHASSIS -- Lightweight, efficient package enables more space

Cadillac’s new crossover embodies the company’s expertise for lightweight and agile driving dynamics. The new XT5 is 278 pounds (126 kg) lighter than the current SRX , and 100 pounds (45 kg) lighter than the Audi Q5 – despite the Cadillac being seven inches longer. The new XT5 is more than 650 pounds (295 kg) lighter than the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, achieving this with no compromise to body rigidity and crash performance.

POWERTRAIN -- Advanced powertrains add to efficiency and dynamics

With an estimated peak output of 310-horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, the new V6 uses variable valve timing for strong response and smooth power delivery. Cadillac’s new Stop/Start technology automatically stop and start the engine when the vehicle is at rest in traffic stops, saving fuel and reducing emissions, while enhancing the quietness expected of a luxury vehicle.

In China, the XT5 will be offered with a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. Powerful, yet compact, the 2.0T also features Stop/Start technology.

I like the interior. Looks like a class act. Also digging that Cadillac emblem on the upper rear area of the front fender.

I really like the wood in the vent, it's a nice detailed touch.

I was on the fence with the XT5 but I'm scooting over to its side after seeing all of it and the interior.
I love the interior, all the interesting surfacing with the wood and leather. I think the only thing that I don't like about the wood is that strip on the steering wheel, not a fan.
I'm pretty sure it's the platinum grille that I like the most, the one with less chrome and slats, it looks refined and gorgeous. The other looks a little tacky, but nowhere near as tacky and dowdy as the outgoing SRX grille.

I really like the interior, but the upper vents look a little cheap to me. Love the wood on the side vents.

I really hope there are more power train options, like a LGW powered Vsport. It'll be probably happen down the road.

The AWD system can send 100% of its power to the rear, or laterally. The transmission has Electronic Precision Shift, Cadillac's first electronically controlled shifter.

I like the wood by the interior door handles. A little underwhelmed by it, but a pretty solid offering.

I wonder if this will speed up the downshifts and the paddle shift delay I've been reading associated with the 8spd.

That interior looks MONEY. Home run methinks. Loving the wood in the vent. Really has some nice touches. Some of the wood treatments have a Scandanavian feel to them.
