Rendering Signals New Cadillac Dealer Image

I stumbled upon this rendering today of a new Cadillac dealership that's apparently going up very close to me just outside Atlanta. It has a new look. I'd previously seen a rendering of a Canadian dealership that had a similar look, but I had not realized it's coming to the U.S. as well. Apparently, this sketch has been around for a few months as part of permit applications, but I had somehow missed it.

It's not clear if this dealership is going to replace another dealer somewhere in the metro or if this is a new franchise. This dealership group (Jim Ellis) does not currently have Cadillac, nor is there another Cadillac dealer in the immediate area where this one will be going up. I will definitely be trying them for service, since they're closer to my house than my usual dealer, where I've had mixed experiences.

So basically a glass fronted pole barn. I typically prefer understated design, but this is a bit to far on the bland side even for me!

My dealer's plain, tiny showroom is the spruced-up 1970's used car showroom for the Chevrolet dealer that owns both. They changed hands recently to a family with several dealers in a bigger city, so I await improvements. It was slated for closure in the bankruptcy but got a reprieve.

this is a bit too far on the bland side even for me!
It's designed to contrast with the cars. Or maybe they're going cheap.

I don't like any of the changes to the logo in the last 20 years, but I wouldn't mind if they changed the script to printed letters. It's odd that it hasn't been changed in over 50 years.

Indeed. The glass house type "architecture" that started in the fifties is nothing but unimaginative. Maybe glass is cheaper than real walls. I know it's not nearly as solid or secure as real walls.

    That building is pathetic.

The aesthetic is similar to that employed by the Cadillac auto show stages from the last several years.
