    Looking at a 2015 Regal

    Any owners in here?

    Trouble spots

I test drove it yesterday (2.0 Turbo)Very quiet, smooth engine, shifts nicely. Really good ride and handling balance. I have never owned a Turbo car before and have only infrequently driven them. However for my next car it was near the top of the list.

I wonder why Regals don't sell more. I liked the refreshed interior and updated exterior.

Nice car. Can be had for cheap if leased around here.

    Would you consider leasing?

Due to the amount of car you get and lease pricing, it is one of the most attractive cars you can find anywhere near its price. It may not have the best FE, be the fastest mid-sizer, have the best interior or an LED plate light, but it does everything a car should do, very, VERY well. I only have the P1 so I don't have HID's or 19/20 wheels or even the fancy safety tech, but I haven't had anyone not get in my car who hasn't had nice things to say. As an added bonus, I get all types of people, who still watch commercials (who doesn't have a dvr, netflix, streaming these days?) that choose to make "That's a Buick?" comment. Which, by the way, NEVER get old and are always funny.

Either way, do it, and you won't be disappointed (Unless you can afford something better).

Had a '12 GS. Loved the looks and the performance. It was very noisy on the highway and the seats were hard as rocks. Maybe those two problem issues relate only to the GS.

I really like my 2012 Regal Turbo Premium I. I have had some issues with it. Bad radio replaced under warranty and a replaced Belt Tensioner/Serpentine Belt at 13,900 miles. About 17 months from paying it off. Intend to keep this car and pass it down to my daughter in four years.

We love our 2013 Regal which we have had for three years. The most reliable car we have ever had. No problems at all. Quiet, comfortable, and great handling. Check out Consumer Reports. It is one of the highest rated cars.

I have late 2011, unit built at Opel plant, with 2.0T engine and Aisin 6 speed auto. Almost 5 years now, over 52k miles (or 84k km), I will try to push it for another 5 and move to something else.

Pros: Overall great looking and designed car, not too fast or sporty but athletic enough for me, decent and enjoyable and better than all bread and butter sedans

Cons: poor city or combined fuel economy, but not far off from EPA estimates, bad seat heating elements (replaced 2 times), parking break sensor failed, all fixed under B2B 4 year warranty. Poor GM service experience everywhere, parts difficult to find or long lead time to get them. OEM lug bolt wrench for spare tire was wrong size and poor workmanship, cut my hand just holding it. GM GW Service did not want to replace it (after warranty expired), asked $36 for proper size 7/8". I said "OK, next time GM will not be on my shopping list".

I have a '12 GS, coming up on 4 years shortly and at 48K miles. No issues thus far. Not loud on the highway, seats IMO were better than the regular cars, but the bolstering is tighter so if you're a wide fellow that might be uncomfortable. Mother has a '13 Turbo at 42K and no problems. On the forums the only common fault seems to be rear wheel bearings going out.

Fuel economy should be slightly better with the newer turbo engine (LTG vs old LHU) starting in '14.

I didn't think they leased well since the residuals were not very good?

At the time I had my '12 GS my wife had a '12 (and then a '13) Verano, which was SO much quieter on the highway that we used her car for long trips even though the GS was much more fun to drive. Both of us are of average weight so seat width was not the problem, it was the extra-firm padding that made them uncomfortable for both of us.

Re: Looking at a 2015 Regal

I test drove a 2014 Regal 2.0T AWD. It was a nice vehicle...had a premium feel to it and a nice, quiet ride. I really wanted a V6 and I couldn't get over the second set of doors, otherwise one would be in my garage right now.
