Anyway, the modded comment in that thread was directed at me, and I took no issue with his original post, people need to get some thicker skin if someone was offended by it.

Probably the thinning of the community was due to life changes or changes in interest

I'd like to know how stopping a discussion benefits the site.

I tried to sign up for FIN but the site wouldn't let me. This was a few years back. I felt sad, but I've gotten over it.

Thing is, some people get too easily offended I think. It's not like it's real life or something it's just an internet forum with lots of opinions and back and forth. Don't be taking things so personally I guess and there's always the "ignore" feature. Take the lumps and move on is how I see it... and don't be on one thinking you're(any one of us) always right. I think it's dead at times because of the lack of new content, and then certain threads end up with too long of lives, morphing into all manner of weirdness and drive others away. Anyhow.........

What?....There are 13 of us here that participate on a regular basis.

For the record I have owned 3 Fords in my life so far: 1989 Ford Taurus (P.O.S) 2003 Ford Taurus (P.O.S) and the current Lincoln MKT (adore it).

    GM vehicles I've owned:

    1980 Olds Cutlass Wagon
    1983 Buick T-type
    1986 Pontiac Trans Am
    1990 Chevy Nova
    1991 Geo Storm
    1991 Firebird Formula
    1992 Cadillac DeVille (P.O.S)
    1993 Chevy Lumina
1994 Pontiac Trans Am (still have & love it)
2002 Chevy Trailblazer LS (Love it!)
2003 Pontiac Transport (Opel derived, but I absolutely loved it)
    2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT
    2007 Trailblazer SS (R.I.P)
Almost a 2013 Buick Enclave till the MKT beat it out because of better handling, power and options.

    Surprise!

If GM had something close I would have bought that, but GM didn't.

As I have said before in my case the "New GM" makes nothing I'm interested in anymore. Maybe that will change in 2022.

If not there is plenty of "Old GM" metal I'm ore than willing to buy and restore another 91-92 Firebird Formula or an early 80's Olds Cutlass Wagon or Chevy Malibu Wagon, maybe even a 2nd gen Escalade. Plenty of other options...

Nothing in Cadillac's line up interests Mrs.Buttons, she has her sights set on a RR/LR Velar.

Hell at this point, anything wouldve been better than the end product...including using the LWB C1XX layout. But yes, Omega would've perfect...SuperCruise on day 1...4.2TT variant, 3.0TT standard...hell we may have even seen a "Coupe" variant. I really want to see a Cadillac coupe ute in some form.

Hooey, after 10 days and 17 pages, it should be clear to everyone that remaking a 3 year old GMC was the better way!

Re: Cadillac XT6 wins 2020 China SUV Award

    Just so we're keeping score...this AWD XT6 is $66k:

My Buick decently equipped, better looking, and larger at 41k:

And my 6 Grand Touring Reserve MSRP 33k..purchase price 26.5k, full leather, nav, HUD, etc

Like I said previously at 48-53k the XT6 makes some sense but there is nothing about it that makes it damn near a fully loaded midsize sedan better than the mid tier Buick.
