    Cadillac and the Alt-Right

Cadillac Cancels Neo-Nazi Ad After Online Outrage

Do you love racism and think there’s a global Jewish conspiracy to control the world’s money supply? Then Cadillac might be the car brand for you. Or, at least, that was the basic pitch when Cadillac’s ad agency put out a casting call for people who identify as alt-right and neo-Nazi.

The casting notice was condemned on social media on Friday and was altered to remove the word “neo-Nazi.” The new ad still sought people who identified as “alt-right.” It should probably be noted, however, that the two political identities overlap in virtually every way.

Cadillac disavowed the casting call today in a Facebook post, explaining that they didn’t authorize their ad agency to seek out neo-Nazis to be featured in a commercial:

Cadillac did not authorize or approve a casting notice for an “alt-right (neo-nazi)“ role in a commercial. We unequivocally condemn the notice and are seeking immediate answers from our creative agency, production company and any casting companies involved.

Is this for real or fake news? If real sounds like someone went rogue vs. condoned by either GM or the ad agency. If anyone things GM condoned this they are nuts.

I'm not sure who the bigger nuts are, the one who initiated this or the people who take at face value and are organizing a protest/boycott of GM. Corporations are made up of people, and people can do things the corporation doesn't want.

On what do you base your adsurd conclusion that the agency is pitchng Cadillac's to Alt-Right / Neo-Nazis types? Because an ad features such a character doesn't mean that's who the ad is aimed at. Is every movie featuring a Nazi propaganda for national socialism? Tell you what, stick to driving your third Reich krautmobile, spewing Zyklon-B into your progressive SF bubble and leave Cadillac to the rest of us.

Clearly little or no understanding of the alt-right, slav-right, anime-right or even hellokitty-right.
Patriotic, hard-working citizens who treasure their country, their right to free speech, their right to bear arms, and an aversion to politically-correct speech, lies and evil, and all Ford products made in Mexico.

glibs have no more understanding of what an actual constitutional conservative is than a goldfish understands the phases of the moon.

Notice that their #1 weapon is to call everyone who dares disagree with their "progressive" and "inclusive" and "diverse" world, a racist. Because like all psychopathic movements and religions, they call others what they are, accuse others of doing what they do. The Clintons were and are perfect examples of this.

MG and your SF loonie ideas, there is nothing good you have done today by bringing this BS to GMI.

"Fake news" has been practiced by the lamestream media for decades. For the people who can't figure that out, there's probably no hope for you ever developing real intelligence and the power to learn and reason. Polly want a cracker?

A good marketing approach; covering all the demographics that can afford the product.

    And hilarious.

They should target the plutocrat/oligarch segment, too.

    Re: Cadillac and the Alt-Right

Terrible optics, but given the hipster-focused ads they've made as of late I'm a bit suspicious of the 180-degree switch of this casting call. Also, given the butthurt of the American left after the Trump election I'm at least as suspicious of the critics of the so-called "alt right" as I am of the movement itself these days.
