Man it would be great to have a update version built on the CT6 platform. To bad it would never happen.

We can dream but it will never happen. That ship has sailed off into the great automobile heaven. The big SUV wagon-master has taken its place.

Funny, I just saw one on the road the other day! Was cool to see it, but it is a relic of a past era. I'd say GM is misallocating their resources if they put money into developing a new one.

Sleep on it if you want, but those are still some fantastic vehicles.

I'm surprised someone with your stance on all things GM are down on this.

Guess you only like the new bland products?

New GM just needs to do just new GM things.

When New GM digs into the old GM things bag; turrible turrible things happen...*cough* Blazer* *cough*.

Lighten up Francis, it was a joke I thought I told you not to lose your sense of humor! I saw "modern collectable" and immediately thought of him.

LT1 cars have ranked very high on my list of cars I've always wanted, but I have an extremely stringent list of criteria for purchase that I will not compromise on so I continue the search.

Too bad Hannah has almost no idea what she's writing about. And her occasional word salad, really. "Post-ironic disdain" WTF?? Does she mean iconic? They were the reimagined versions of the angular “estate” cars (precursors to what we’d call station wagons) that Buick made in the late 1970s and, before that, in the ’50s and early ’60s. These were always called station wagons. "Estate" is I believe what the Limeys called them.

Whatever. All I know is one of my bud's fathers, a lifer Ford factory rat, LOOOOVED his '72 red/woodie Country Squire so much he kept the window sticker scotch-taped in there until it turned to dust.

The piece still gives good PR to the neglected Iowa-class tanks of yesteryear.
