Buick adding new version of Tourx for 2019?

An Opel Insignia ago without the ugly plastic cladding was spotted this month in Michigan https://buickforums.com/forums/threa...-remove.48021/

Could that mean Buick is listening to the complaints and adding a Regal wagon without the cladding?

The order guide shows nothing for the 2019 Regal yet. Let's hope they're waiting to unveil a new version!

What we really need is an unclad Regal GS sportwagon with the V6. Why is this so difficult to comprehend??

Without the cladding, it should be better looking than the sedan.
I don't see the point of AWD with off-road pretensions with so little ground clearance.

I would have bought an unclad wagon like this years ago, but I want my next car to have taller door openings. It's late middle age and over 6 feet.

Flares don't run down the rocker panels, nor do they wrap around into the front and rear bumper covers this is cladding, not flares. totes obvi

Re: Buick adding new version of Tourx for 2019?

Saw something interesting on the expressway a week ago, but I couldn't quite make it out.

Got closer and saw that it had really obnoxious trim pieces on the fenders, and as I advanced on the slower vehicle in a lane to the right of me, I got a real good look at the side of the thing, and realized that the pics I'd seen online made it almost appealing, but in real life, it was one of the ugliest vehicles I'd ever seen. As ugly as anything I'd seen in the early 80's.

This is when I knew that the guys sitting in the Silos that decided to buy those imports and slap a Buick badge on them have their head completely inserted into their own rectums.

Such utter incompetence. A complete lack of any sense of style and design.

A needless fouling of a decent vehicle.

Cladding is adding extra useless plastic crap all along the side of a vehicle

The Insignia just has rocker panels painted blacky grey and some wheel arch flares that serve a purpose

Re: Buick adding new version of Tourx for 2019?

It's rocker panel cladding for sure, and it doesn't ever look any better, no matter how much more money you spend.

The extra nasty is the 'tab' portion at the top of each wheel opening, rather than a simple larger radius matching the shape of he opening.

It's snap on faux Suburu is what it is.

It's as close to "Family Truckster" as anything I've seen in several decades.

Scroll down a 1/4 page to the trim levels. More money doesn't ameliorate the problem.

They ride low and with the shape and length, they look even lower, but hey they do get 0.000000325 MPG better fuel economy!

Pretentious is exactly what the 'off road capability' inference is.

Nobody is going to buy this thing to drag kayaks back on two a tracker like a Suburu.

But I think that's what the cladding is for, to make people think that's what they are getting.

It's the Buick demographic, you can tell them anything, but they do know ugly.

This all new model (with all its trims and configurations) is falling into irrelevance within first year on the market...why bother?
