    2017 LaCrosse Question

    Friends,

If this has been asked and answered, sorry for the redundancy. Did The General repurpose the XTS Chassis for the new LaCrosse? I noticed that the wheelbase on it will be 2.7 inches longer. If memory serves me correctly, the final product would match the XTS dimensionally.

    Good night and good luck.

The new LaCrosse rides on E2XX, the XTS on Super Epsilon II.

It would be interesting to compare the P2xx and E2xx platforms

Surprised that they'd have two platforms so close to each other in size. I thought that since the XTS seems to be redundant (now that the CT6 is coming) that the platform would be repurposed to Buick.
    Thanks much!

It really IS attractive. It's as spacious as most other cars (more so than the current Taurus) and the price isn't too bad. I even think that the interior is sharp.

The XTS/Impala/LaCrosse currently all ride on the same chassis 111.7" wheelbase, and the same basic width, the LaCrosse is about 5" shorter, I believe most of the loss is in the truck area.

The new LaCrosse is just the latest version of the same platform formally known as Epsilon, as you noted the wheelbase grew but overall length is still about the same; 5" shorter.

Seeing the new LaCrosse in person; it seems to sit low(er), I noticed this, because I am actually a big fan of the more "up-right" seating position(s), I hope it isn't real, it could be just visual perception.

Pretty good looking sedan. The segments dying but the last few entrants are the best they have ever been.
