This is a performance car pure and simple. A performance car doesn't need all the gas saving crap on it. It just needs to go fast. Could the G8 get better mpg with a 5.3 instead of a 6.0 or 6.2? Absolutely, but it is about power and muscle. People do want better mileage but it is not the #1 concern for every car. If it was, we would all be driving Priuses'.
