Saturn still making the VUE in July, 2010?

    Hey Folks,

Am I reading the just-released production sheet for the month of July, 2010 correctly? Down under MEXICO TRUCK PRODUCTION, GM's Ramos Arizpe 2 production plant is listed as having built 32,358 TOTAL 2010 model year VUE's, which seems reasonable. Then states that 19,724 of those were manufactured in this (2010) calendar year, which also seems reasonable.... BUT, it ALSO states that 2,324 of those were manufactured in July, 2010! I thought Saturn manufacturing all but shut down??

Here's a link (I think) to the report:

Maybe they're Middle Eastern market GMC Terrains:

They could also be Opel/Vauxhall Antaras.

I dunno, I was just at a (jettisoned by GM) Saturn dealer, they would love to have some new ones.

As it is, they are now a used car lot, doing a lot of Saturn service and selling used Saturns. And other cars.

The vehicle is still being sold in Mexico as the Chevrolet Captiva, FWIK. I never saw those units labelled separately as "Captiva" in those reports, so I'd assume it's the Mexican market production.

How stupid for GM not to sell those as Buicks, btw.

PS. Or GMCs, the Terrain indeed does look good!

I spoke with the driver of a car hauler 3 months ago. He mentioned there being around 200-300 Saturn AURA another 100 VUE's that were fresh off the train. I asked if they were marked differently like maybe they were Opels, but that wouldn't explain the AURAs. He said they were not.

It set me off on a statewide search for dealers that might have brand new ones on their lot. I want to purchase a new AURA because I love mine so much and 6 speed would be nice. After a month of searching, I resigned myself to having to purchase mine off lease.

GM made a big deal that Saturn production abruptly ended last September when the Penske deal failed.

If it is being built to be sold under different names in different markets, why is it being called the Saturn Vue in the production tables?

I agree. Even as a stop-gap until the newer small Xuv is due. I don't know that I buy the argument that clinic-reaction alone killed it.

    I agree.

I was hoping that the U.S. market Terrain would turn out looking more like the new Grand Cherokee than what it actually looks like. The overall shape of the U.S. version is appealing, but everything else is overdone and cartoonish.
