Thumbs up Our new ASTRA :)

We pulled ahead on our AURA lease and nabbed a sandstone 5-door ASTRA XR.

    - Advanced audio package
    - Sport handling package
    - Premium trim package
    - 4-speed automatic
    - Sunroof

    $22,855 MSRP

Minus the GMAC downpayment assistance ($2,000) and the employee discount, we were out the door at $20k including TTL. I can't seem to post pictures from work, so I'll have to do that later. Love the car!

Congrats on the new ride but tell me what does the sport handling package include bec. I thought all of the Astras handled pretty well.

Sport handling = 17" alloys, lower ride height, stiffer suspension, quick-ratio steering

Side-to-side, it feels about the same. My shoulders are about 3-4" from the door (granted, I'm a 5'9", 145lbs programmer) and my head is nowhere close to the roof. Everything front-to-back is smaller, obviously. The dash is closer and more upright. The rear is noticably tighter in legroom, but the only passenger back there is 16months. I'll miss the deep trunk of the AURA for my golf clubs, but things still fit. All told, it's a ton smaller dimensionally, but feels less than the numbers would indicate.

I tried in the initial post, but the uploading failed. I'll try again from home.

Why'd you pick that over an HHR SS? Just curious.

It's my wife's commuter car and she hates the look of the HHR. Combine that with not wanting to touch another Chevy or any other GM dealership with a 10-foot pole and the Saturn was it.

What I meant was Saturn is the only brand we'd consider. The Chevy dealer we got the 'Nox from was horrible. BPG is more of the same around here and we're not rich enough for a Caddy/Saab.

It certainly doesn't feel like one. The experience is 100 times better!
