I really like this car.......but like many "Euro- Performance" sedans it is way undertired. Better rubber is only a click away, however.
I would like to see a G8 GXP vs BMW M5 comparo
Has anyone taken the v6 out for a test drive?
Dealers in Southern Ontario are aggressively promoting the v6. Last night alone I saw two of them within the a few minutes of one another.
Supposedly the gxp is offered at around 35 grand right now with incentives..
its a hell of a car although I'd opt for the GT at the 24 grand executive models I've seen available on the g8 forum.
I'd buy an automatic Gxp so for the 10 grand I'd opt for the GT rather than the GXP and pocket the 10 grand.
If I get the urge for more hp I'd just slap a supercharger on it. (6 grand installed)

I have only driven the G8 GT, and it's an awesome car! The GXP is probably much faster, but I'm not sure if the suspension or anything are any different. I was kind of hoping for even more aggressive styling for the GXP model, but the standard G8 look is aggressive enough anyway.

I found an orange one that I'd love to have ... but the price (last time I checked, anyway) was still upwards of $25K ... for a used one. Believe it was the V6 model, too. That probably is a good deal, but still a bit more than I'd like to pay these days....

My suggestion is to check out the various G8 forums before anyone else shops..
I've been to the G8 forums and seen lightly used (under 1000 mile examples with the V8 for around 23 or 24 grand
Of course nothing like a brand NEW one like Hitmans but before anyone spends 25 grand for the V6....I'd suggest buying a lightly used G8 V8 for less than 25 grand...
The v6 isn't really the G8 to buy.. The gas mileage of the L76 V8 is about 1 mpg lesss than the v6..so wtf! Buy the balls to the walls L76 V8 and enjoy that 391 lb/ft of torque...and the car runs on regular grade fuel no less!
Buying the G8 Gt is one of the smartest buying moves for those that crave a fast four door sports sedan...

I love this car so much! Go Pontiac!
The G8 GTs are selling for about $28 - 29k here in Ontario. That's a great deal, especially when one does the conversion back to US bucks.
If I needed a car I'd buy a GT in a heartbeat.

I noticed the mpg difference when I looked through the brochure several months ago now. I couldn't believe the difference was THAT minimal.
However ... the insurance premiums are a bit higher for the V8 than the V6.

I'd much rather have the V8, though.
Exactly. Except ... I won't want a sedan....Originally Posted by JBsZ06[/quote
