I think Pontiac's next ad campaign should use the old LL Cool J line: "Don't call it a comeback"

I am a little confused here, is Pontiac totally disappearing or will it become a "sub-brand" sold in Chevy dealerships?

As i understand Pontiac will continue to exist, only with fewer models and i think they will be sold in Buick-GMC delerships, but that's just how i understand it.

Thats what I thought, Pontiac will shrink but not disappear.

Yeah, essentially BPG will have a full lineup without any overlap.

In a practical sense Pontiac disappeared a long time ago, unless you rent cars frequently.

Thats great, I would assume what remains of Pontiac would fill the performance niche of the BPG dealers?

I concur, except for the G8 and Solstice Pontiac just has rebadged Chevy's. Maybe as a niche brand Pontiac will return to its roots?

No, Pontiac isn't disappearing. And dad was just taking Old Blue out for a 'walk' to the back field with his shotgun over his shoulder...

They're shrinking it so that it's easier to kill off later.

They were clear about it becoming a "niche" brand, and said it wasn't going to be Oldsmobile 2.0.

Yeah. I figure Pontiac will have the RWD performance, while Buick pulls the FWD mid-luxury duty. GMC will obviously take care of the truck side.

    Hopefully you're wrong.

I think this is a very desirable outcome, both for GM and Pontiac fans. Hopefully you're right.

Thats the only way I could see it.

If GM can pull it off, the BPG arm could be a force to be reckoned with in a few years. The Buicks have the mid-lux, Pontiac will be performance, and GMC the uplevel trucks. Could work quite well, if done correctly.
