It's under the driver side lower rear quarter trim panel.
Aren't Sirius and XM now merged? I keep getting emails from XM to sign up again and they use the Sirius stations/shows as part of the draw...
Is it worth the trouble now? XM and Sirius share most of the same channels now.
Thanks guys, It is worth it, I have changed them out in 3 or 4 of my cars. Sirius compresses the radio waves different then XM, dont ask how but Sirius sound is more crisp or clear. Thanks for the info.
How difficult is it to remove that trim, does it just snap in place. Was much easier to get to the Z's tuner. thanks

What all models have you switched them out on? I haven't seen a Sirius receiver made for the newer GM systems, just the older ones.
I swapped out the XM unit in my 2005 Silverado for the Sirius unit and since the merger I've been meaning to switch it back. Sirius doesn't sound nearly as good as the factory XM did. I'm also impressed with the quality of XM on the newer GM systems.

You're using the SIR-GM1 right? It's not gonna work on the Vue. The Vue uses the new GM-LAN as opposed to the older Class-2 network. The new GM-LAN compatible SIRGM3A that will work in the Vue isn't even available yet as far as I know, and since the merger means most of the channels are now shared it may never be available.
Have you listened to XM much since the merger?

You would be correct.
On a related note, I talked to someone at Sirius the other day and they said that they were in the process of merging their accounting areas so that customers can add either brand of radios to XM or Sirius accounts. I then asked if I would be able to add my Sirius in my Focus to my XM account for $6.99 a month; she said "that is the plan." She said they don't want to isolate customers to just XM or just Sirius. Makes sense.
