How to write a letter to the editor

This "template" was printed in this month's Car and Driver as their "Best Letter". Pretty accurate if you ask me.

You need to (vague demand that would improve Car and Driver). Your comparison of the (name of some car) and the (name of some other car) was total (swear word). I can't believe you guys think that (name of one of the cars) is better than (name of the other car). The (name of the winning car) is a (witty insult). Compared with the (name of the losing car), it (insult about the winning car, demonstrating the superiority of the losing car). Besides which, on page (page number) you claim that (repeat information printed in C/D). That is (vulgar phrase). Actually, (surprising information, presented in an insulting manner, that proves C/D is stupid and he letter writer is highly intelligent and exceedingly knowledgeable about cars). (Final insulting remark).

Re: How to write a letter to the editor

Surprisingly, I've had two letters to the editor published in Automobile Magazine. I say surprisingly because I came across as my usual bitter, derisive self in both letters and was thus not very complimentary of the Magazine. As I recall, the editor didn't have anything else to say besides the Magazine stood by its choices (in response to my first letter), whereas the second letter was void of any response.

I guess I'm the fool, though; despite my irritation with their finding fault in just about everything made by Ford or GM, I continue to subscribe to Automobile. Go figure. Maybe I appreciate other people's perspectives, despite my disagreeing with them more times than not.

    That is funny.
I sent C&D a response to their 2003 sedan comparo in which Bedard sounded like he had been physically and emotionally intimate with the winning Accord for quite a while.
If you recall the article he did go pretty far out there. Nary a word, despite sending it to both Ed and Yates.

How much you wanna bet that the names are Accord & Fusion, and that it came from GMI?
