    Buick Enclave vs Lincoln MKX

Ok, I've priced out a Buick Enclave CXL (FWD) and a Lincoln MKX (FWD), maxed both out except for rear DVD entertainment. The Buick comes out to $42,915 and the Lincoln comes out to $42,080. The pricing really makes no difference at all. Which would you choose?

Please don't suggest another car, has as of right now, we have narrowed it down to these two vehicles. A Golden retriever will be riding in the car, almost daily.

And I know this is a GM site, but lets try and keep the bias down. I'd like some cold hard facts why one is superior over another. Styling doesn't count. (Ok Styling counts, its just that styling is subjective..so yar.)

And the Enclave would be configured to 7 (so captain's chairs in the 2nd row).

The MKX is a damn good vehicle but the Enclave is Art on Wheels. Also the Enclave is significantly larger.

    I'd buy the Enclave.

The Enclave just seems like a more refined vehicle. The interior of the Lincoln is nice but the Buick's materials is better IMO. You should post some pictures of the two.

    your joking right??

with that aside, fuel economy is almost the same and the Enclave is larger, seats seven or eight (depending on model). The interior on the MKX is a hard one to love, it just seems like a Ford with blonde wood. I don't care for it, but then again I don't like the wood in the Enclave or the fabric seats. so I would go w/the Enclave

Re: Buick Enclave vs Lincoln MKX

Enclave because the rear doesn't look dated at the time of its release. I mean, look at me with a straight face and say that the taillights on the MKX that go all the way across don't look dated and will look better with aging.

*But* in the end I really wouldn't take either of them from my own free will because, well, I'd never own a Buick (at least any time soon). Cadillac, yeah. Buick? No.. it's still an old person brand, IMO. Same with most Lincolns. No offense to those who own them though, the Enclave is great but I'd rather get a GMC or Chevrolet.

I like both vehicles as well - I give the slight nod to the Enclave since I like the interior better and as others have mentioned its a big bigger with no real loss of MPGs.

I think you'll be happy in either though.

I saw them both up close in a mall parking lot side by side, if you can believe that kind of luck. Enclave all the way style wise outside and definitely inside is no contest.

Re: Buick Enclave vs Lincoln MKX

Coming from someone that has spent a LOT of time behind the wheel of a fully-loaded MKX FWD, I can say I would recommend it.

However, gas mileage is NOT too great on it. I drove it on a 1,500 mile trip and the best I got was 23 MPG on all highway (going 70-75 MPH). From what I have seen of real-world Lambda gas milage, you could probably get better with it...and its bigger and more powerful.

As this is for your sister, I would say MKX power would be fine for her. The Duratec 35 has to haul around nearly 5,000 lbs., so it does strain somewhat at times.

enclave for sure. the enclave styling everyone can appreciate, as the mkx has a more of a accustomed taste. plus i love those blue rings around the headlights on the enclave

They're both handsome vehicles. But styiling aside, for the same money & same fuel economy the Buick is a no-brainer IMHO due to more interior space. After all, a Golden Retriever will be riding in the vehicle almost daily, right?

One thing I don't understand is if you like a car enough, why do you care what other people think about it? I mean, if I was like that, I would not be driving a Corolla.

Because I don't like the Enclave (or anything Buick has out) enough to drive it.
