    April Truck sales

Silverado is a shot bird at the moment, Ram is ~ 10K in front

    Model........April '19......April '18...............4 Months '19.....4 Months '18
    Ram..........49,106.......39,252 (25.1%)....169,132..........143,216 (18.1%)

    Silverado..39,779........47,724 (-16.6%)....154,092.........183,269 (-15.9%)
    Sierra......14,109........15,049 (-6.2%)........54,655...........56,517 (-3.3%)
    Colorado..11,655........12,345 (-5.6%)........45,149...........41,204 (9.6%)
    Canyon.....2,420..........2,960 (-18.2%)........9,374...........10,173 (-7.9%)

    F150.......70,006........73,104 (-4.2%)......284,617..........287,295 (-0.9%)
    Ranger.....,5,748................0 (-----%).......15,169......................0 (----%)

And yes, F Series out sold combined total of Silverado, Sierra, Colorado and Canyon.

Ram was only 4,780 behind combined Silverado and Sierra sales.

What a reversal of fortunes, compare 4MO '18 to 4MO'19:

Silverado loses 29,177, Sierra loses 1,852 and Canyon loses 799 while Ram picks up 25,916 and Clolrado picks up 3,845

Looks like a redistribution alright, I think we know where GM's 31,000 lost sales in full sized trucks went, the big question now us can / will GM bounce back this summer?

    Discuss..

Don't worry. It's only because there are no regular cabs available.

It's time for GM to make the 6.2L readily available as a reasonably priced option across all FS trim levels. They need to be proactive. Much like they FINALLY have with the affordable 2020 LT1 V8 Camaro.

    Ouch!

I'm assuming there are more than a few meetings going on at GM's HQ to discuss these very numbers.

So GM put all of the money into the chassis and Dodge lavished the money in the interior, similar scenarios with the Camaro - I like that GM was trying to offer us this tech (trucks with high tech chassis and the world class handling of the Camaro), but they need to keep their eye on the parts we actually touch.

I have been through this in 2004, 1 year after moving to Ford, the New F150 came out. Sales went Dead in the Water, for about 8-10 months. Then picked back up again after a few were kicking around (seen on the streets) and Incentive Spending Started.

Kind of interesting to see that the GMC ReDo is being Better Accepted.

Chevy dealer is right beside the Ram dealer in my town. Ram has huge $15,000 off signs plastered on the sides of new Rams, Chevy has up to $10,000 off on theirs. Over at Ford they have excellent lease offers, 0 down $399 mth for a 507A (iirc) package or my fave a Raptor for 0 down $699 mth!

Chevy's holding up the rear on incentives on the new style. Great deals on the LD models though.

because it's not butt fugly. HAHAH

That's what kills me about the excuses from GM when the Sierra is close to what the old generation sold at but the Silverado is down huge.

Well... you know... but... I mean... truck shoppers need to realize that sub-par interiors and settling for a 5.3 is perfectly adequate, that's all they need for $50. Expecting more for your money is ludicrous.

Would this be a good time to panic? Maybe hold off as ATPs are what really matter. Accounting can come to the rescue with a few more obscure assets to be revalued that could conveniently offset any real loses from actual sales numbers declining.
