From the makers of the 1,000-horsepower modern-day Yenko Chevy Camaro comes a 750-horsepower modern reimagination of the GMC Syclone. Following the release of the 455-horsepower Canyon-turned-Syclone from 2019, Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) announced this week it will build a 2021 Canyon Syclone with supercharged V8 engine.

In the early '90s, GMC produced a all-wheel-drive performance version of its Sonoma pickup truck called the Syclone. It had a turbocharged and intercooled 4.3-liter V6 that made 280 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. GMC has withheld from producing a new version of the legendary pickup for the current era, so aftermarket company SVE took the torch and threw it in a gasoline-soaked bonfire.

Ridonkulous. Why is it so hard to do something with the 4.3L?!

Make it limited edition but a little more affordable. $100K?

    Yikes.

So who's going to make the GMC Typhoon out of the Terrain? Cause I'm sure that would be just as awesome...

By pricing it the way that this comapny has I has a pretty good idea that it will be a limited edition alright.

Remember when we thought 280 hp was a lot to get out of a V6?

Now we get 335 hp out of a smaller 3.6 liter V6, with no supercharging of any kind!

Yeah but not close to 350 lb ft of torque at what is most likely a pretty low rpm.

Turbos tend to do their best at high revs. A turbo has to spin up to speed before it's doing much good.

But I get your point, the larger 4.3 L V6 does naturally have a higher torque than the smaller 3.6 L V6

The turbo's are at high revs but factory turbo engines make excellent torque down low.
