    That is a serious offer.

I am guessing that Covid production has now caught up to Covid demand.

RUN to your local GMC dealer and grab a base vehicle with the $6K offer!!!

Pretty good incentives on the Nox these days too, here's a 2.0T AWD for $5200 off (total $29K before haggling):

Either way some good deals out there...
Current ride: 2015 Chevy Sonic 1.8L 5sp manual sedan
Previous ride: 1998 Subaru Legacy Wagon AWD 2.2L 5sp manual
Next ride, pre-pandemic: Maybe a 2021 2.0T CT4, weekend car, keep the Sonic as DD
Next ride, post-pandemic: Keep driving the Sonic!

Total miles driven is going to be way down this year. Not as many people looking to buy I bet. The incentives should be good most of the year. Especially since we're heading into the '21 model year.

I was planning on buying a CT4 around the end of this year, but my miles are way down this year so I'll be 10k miles short of where I'd be which is giving me pause on buying. Plus I expect to be working at home next year too....

But I am at 108,000 miles, I've traded in case with less miles on the odometer!

Third quarter sales should be out in just a couple of weeks (early Oct). They will be very interesting, for all manufacturers.

My neighbor works for the Mazda/Volvo dealership here in town and they've had a very hard 3 months because the product availability is so small for them.

I love when GM does this though. Let's destroy all the value in the cars.

Not to worried about the value in cars, I’m looking for a bargain, this helps. Could possibly make me pull the trigger on a new one. My newest is 7yrs old and the GTO is 16. And I consider it new. Only has 92 k on it. Just turned it this evening. Almost looks new. I generally drive them till they drop.

Supply was tight and demand was high, it is the main reason there hasn't been many "deals" out there.

Long-Term, it will not have much effect, "miles driven" were down significantly for 3 months, right now they are only down about 15%, WFH people are driving less, but many are back to near-normal levels, and then there is a lot more car (verses fly) trips so there is a segment that is actually driving more now.

Take BlackGTP as an example, he has driven less, over the last 6 month, but his car still has 108K and will be 8 years old soon, once he is back in the office, he will be ready, more and more going back every month.

If I was you, I would try and time something in Jan or Feb, typically the biggest discounts.

Neighbors wife works at a M-B Dealership, they've had tight inventory all summer, no deals and selling everything they get in, volume might be down a little, but printing money on every sale.

Discounting a couple thousand dollars to flush-out past-model cars, does not destroy the value, driving them out of the Dealership lot is what destroys the value.

Here is an easy test; buy a 2021 right now (with no rebates) drive it out of the dealership lot and across the street, to a different dealer, and ask for a trade in price...............

Year-End models is often a good time to buy, thinking back; vehicles I bought at model-year end.

I'm trying to figure out what the best approach is for me... The clever folks at GM gave me an additional $1,000 GM credit card credits 7 years ago, if I wait to Jan/Feb most of that extra $$ will expire. So right now I have a nice $4,500 GM card credit, if I wait to early next year it will probably be down to $3,500 - though I need to look up my 7 year ago credit card bills to see when the additional credits hit, but I'm pretty sure it was early on. I'm sure GM did that on purpose!

I also want a CT4 V AWD that comes in around $50k, most of what I'm seeing has sunroofs and other options I don't want which drive most of them up to $55k. I'm thinking if I wait for the deals then I'd be forced into a more expensive vehicle, I'd lose the extra $1,000 GM card $$, but I might be able to get a better deal on those $55k cars and end up in the same place with more bells in whistles. Though I'm wondering how much those deals might be and if I'd ultimately end up paying more than my desired $50k.

Any thoughts on that? You definitely have more experience in buying cars....

Re: INCENTIVE ALERT: GMC Offers Up To 21% On New Terrain Models

While I get that simply driving a car off the lot does hurt the resale...surely getting "hosed" on the purchase hurts resale as well...take someone who bought a Terrain, let's use the one baller mentioned, before this incentive kicked in...who paid $32k of the 35k MSRP after negotiations for this same car, then a month later GM comes in w/ this incentive taking the price down to $26k....that already wiped out the 3k down payment person A paid on the 32k car and some. It'll eat at you. Kind of how I felt after paying $41k for my $46k Enclave then finding out a few months later, I could've gotten the same car for $36k. It sucks

Keep in mind that 26k is before any negotiations...so it's entirely possible that someone can walk out with this car for $24k
