Didn't see this on any English language sites, but ironically came across it on an Italian autosite that I frequent:
Seems that GM brought over a GMC Savana to demonstrate the customability and personalization of their full-sized vans. The article points out that some of the highlights are leather wrapped interior, climate control zones, on-board fridge, etc.
Does anyone know anything more about this? I wasn't aware that GMC existed in the Chinese market, mostly because smaller trucks/SUVs are handled by SGM's Wuling subsidiary.
The Chinese market is known to love "chauffeur" style vehicles, as the endless lengthened and bespoke versions of the 3-Series L, A6L, E-Class L, and SLS can attribute. What's more, the Chinese are know to love cars that are lavish in creature-comforts, much like the American market.
Could this be GM's way of taking an alternative stab at this market (or open up a new segment altogether) by introducing GMC to China?
