Larbre Competition Ready for New Season With C7R

Larbre Competition ready for new season fighting with WEC elite
    Endurance Info
    Press Release

arbre Competition will compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s LMGTE Am class once again this year with its #50 Corvette C7.R.

The new season is shaping up to be a competitive one for the front-running squad, which will make its 24th appearance at the blue-riband Le Mans 24 Hours race. The team approaches the upcoming campaign with a combination of new and experienced crewmembers in Paolo Ruberti, Pierre Ragues and Yutaka Yamagishi.

Larbre will also strengthen the close relationship it has enjoyed with Corvette Racing since joining forces five years ago. Together, the partners have built a star-studded racing CV, which includes the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup GTE Am title, victory in the corresponding FIA WEC category during its inaugural season in 2012 and two Le Mans class victories in as many years.

I think there is too much going on with the livery. Why do they not run the US Colors?

    Because it's a French team?

This is one of PM last year cars updated....this is not an all new 2016 chassis. BTW. only 3 GT2 cars were ever built. There is not exactly a production line ready market for $2.5mil GT2 homologated race cars. You wlli see about a 1/2 dozen Callaway built GT3 cars later this year.
I guess PM either has no market for a new GT2 C7R FIA race car... or they don't want to build another. Only PM is homologated by GM to build such a racecar.

Somehow Porsche and BMW manage to sell and support GT2, GT3 and GT4 cars pretty well everywhere. I see no reason why Corvette can't do the same. Firms like Phoenix, Black Dog and even Hendrick could be approached to produce customer cars since P&M are fully committed to the Corvette and Cadillac. I'd like to see more Vettes on international grids. Who wouldn't?

Callaway builds the GT3 cars, they built a C6 car and now they have built a C7 car.

I love that a French team is fielding a Corvette...
