The date for the V8 Supercars’ first trip to America has been set for May 17-19
Circuit of the Americas has confirmed the date of the V8 Supercars first event at the new Texas circuit, set for May 17-19 next year.
As previously reported by Speedcafe.com, the V8 Supercars race will be held on the same weekend as NASCAR’s All-Star event at Charlotte, and one week before the world-famous Indianapolis 500.
The entire V8 calendar is expected to be revealed within the next two weeks.
The circuit’s president Steve Sexton says he is looking forward to the V8 Supercars venturing to America.

Drivers who have driven it say it's comparable to Bathurst in the elevation changes and blind corners

Could be a really interesting race i hope they promote it properly and give the Americans a good show of our premier motor racing category

It'll be a good preview for VF/Chev SS as they look far closer to the road car than NASCAR. Main difference being augmented front guards and slightly shorter body. Doors (front), bonnet and bootlid should technically be identical to production parts bar a shorter rear door aperture.

Was wondering what support events they have planned, I think it would be awsome if they could send a smaller field of V8 utes over to show them how we do it down under , It will be the first time a lot of the NA audience will see a Falcon up close too not that it will save it from entering the history books in the next few years

I've been checking the COTA website regularly to see how the track is shaping up and it looks darn good.

I've got it marked. I plan to make the trip.

I was about to say that it wasn't finished yet, but apparently the pavement is. The website plus that video prove it. I will probably have to find a way to watch the F1 race to see where the best spot to be for racing & passing, but with tickets going on sale in 2 weeks, I suppose I won't have that benefit.
