    Cruze Continues to Dominate WTCC

The RML Chevrolet Cruzes had another triumphant day in the , as they brought home another two wins and took five podium finishes out of a possible six. In Race 1, the Cruzes posted a 1-2-3, with Rob Huff taking his third success on the Czech track. He took the lead from in the early stages and held on to cross the line ahead of the Frenchman and .

In Race 2, climbed through the field, from 8th on the grid, to take his second win of the season, while Menu and Huff finished 3rd and 4th after another strong performance from the Cruzes and the RML team.

With these successes (the 8th and 9th victories in 10 races!), the team is in an ideal position in both championships, having further extended its lead in the Manufacturers’ standings, while the three Chevy drivers are leading in the Drivers’ standings, with Muller now 25 points away from Huff. The WTCC will now head to , for the last round of the first half of the season and the first event on a street circuit, a type of track where the Chevys have always excelled in the past.

Geez. The Cruze obliterates cars from other manufacturers in its class in WTCC. One two and one two three race position results are common place with the Cruze. I want a new Chevy Cruze Z spec or Nova SS based on the WTCC Cruze cars.

I find it sad that some people wish for GM to fail and can't comprehend any good news. A plausible explanation for this kind of behavior is that you have a miserable life so you wish the same to others. Cory Pham, Autoblog Poster

GM must return its divisions to being interdependent entities within the corporation. Decentralize and free the different divisions talents to foster brand differentiation and customer loyalty.

Yes, Chevrolet needs a variant to take advantage of BTCC and WTCC success. But to compete..

They also probably need to take on WRC next and just creme everyone.

It would be cool to see the Cruze in the WRC but I think it would be a pretty costly undertaking. The WTCC cars are pretty awesome but WRC set ups are vastly different. I bet some development team in Australia could put together a pretty sweet WRC Cruze.
Research is what I am doing when I don't know what I am doing.

So are they trying to build a race heritage with the name before coming out with a performance version? We can only hope.

What's the point of this when the retail car is strictly pedestrian with no faster engine choice in sight?

What the Cruze needs is a SS or Sport Model, like the Cobalt had.

Is the 1.6T in the Cruze WTCC based on Opels 1.6T or a different one?

.... and if the knowledge gained during racing isn't transferred to the production car (a la Corvette), then who cares? Really - seriously, how does this matter??
