Opel/Vauxhal is preparing a mild facelift for its Mokka compact crossover, which is expected to go on sale at the beginning of next year.

These first spy pictures reveal that the Mokka's styling changes will be very mild, with only the front end camouflaged on this test mule. A new grille arrangement can be seen in these pictures, while a reprofiled front bumper and redesigned light clusters are also expected. Those styling tweaks should bring the Mokka in line with more recent Vauxhall models such as the Corsa, Viva and new Astra.

As well as its obvious exterior changes, Vauxhall is expected to lift the overall fit and finish of the Mokka's cabin as well as fitting its Intellilink infotainment system. The firm's new Onstar connectivity system will also be fitted on higher-end models.

A minor improvement in exterior styling, likely considerable improvement in interior quality and tech, new 1.4T with more power (mainly torque, which is mainly what is needed for this city runabout) and its increased fuel economy. I hope/assume the Encore and Trax will get the same treatment. Just what the doctor ordered as the competition intensifies in this growing segment.
Like many, I doubt we need or will get the 1.0T here in NA. An optional 1.5T or even 1.6T would be nice, though.

You surely won't get the 1.0T in NA. Here in Europe fuel economy and low emissions are important. Many countries like Finland put a heavier annual tax on higher emissions. The 1.0T will be a really good option here for us as it addresses both. Freeway on ramp acceleration is not important here, unlike NA so a tiny 1.0T is acceptable.

My wife test drove the Buick version and she found the handling not to be precise. I like the car but a guy seems uncomfotable being seen in this. I would love to see the revival of the original Ford Bronco which is around this size and not so feminine.

My wife has a 2015 Encore Premium FWD. She absolutely LOVES it. High seating position, comfortable seats, quiet, smooth ride, nimble handling. Plus it looks beautiful in White Pearl with chrome wheels and Saddle interior.
I have driven it numerous times and am quite impressed with it, but I agree with you, it wouldn't be a daily driver for me, even in a more masculine color combo
