After selling more than 500,000 units across Europe, Opel is freshening up its small crossover.

The new Mokka X will make its world premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show on March 3rd, showing off its updated exterior design, new interior and new generation infotainment systems, therefor becoming one of the best-connected small all-terrain vehicles on the market.

Starting with the Mokka, the "X" designation will be used on future SUV and crossover vehicles that emphasize a more adventurous and rugged persona than the one displayed by more mainstream models.

Its new look features a wing-shaped horizontal grille and more sculpted surfaces with less plastic inserts, and th LED daytime running lights sport a double wing signature. Altogether, they give the Mokka X "a wider and more masculine stance", or at least that's what Opel says.

And that is how you facelift a car. That's a proper good looker. Better than the original in my opinion.

Safe to assume the 2017 Buick Encore gets the same MCE? I like what I see here!

Looks really nicely done. Much cleaner and upscale than before, IMO.

Does that mean that the "Rock" designation that was given to the more "adventurous" version of the Adam is now off the table?

Wow, that's a sharp looking little squirt. I can't wait to see how the Encore looks after it gets updated. That grille looks ripe for the new Buick grille too.

The Encore was still descent looking, but that looks so much better. Now if the could just fix the Traxx?

The interior upgrade looks very nice also. If the buick version looks similar it will keep selling very well and with the new 1.4 even better than it currently sells.

The update looks great, always thought the original looked horrible.

Love the updated looks and the very intuitive Infortainment Center, a huge upgrade over the current Mokka. Will have Apple Car Play & Android Auto too. Tough decision coming, will it be a 2017 Opel Mokka or Astra Sports Tour Wagon for us. Can't go wrong with either. Impressed with the direction of Opel.

I really hope the interior has been spiced up significantly.

It's so much better now, especially the front end. HUGE improvement. They really cleaned up the hood cutline and made flow better.

Re: Opel Mokka "X" facelift revealed

This looks like it could easily accept the new Buick 'LaCrosse' style grille. In the flesh the current Encore (in a nice light metallic) actually looks better than you would expect it to, so this is going to look spectacular. Can someone post the new and old interior in a side by side?
