Meg Whitman is the one who issued the challenge to Mary Barra. She also challenged Romney.

Say what you want about Romney. He will do this. His fitness poses no restrictions. He may not NEED to, but he will. He has given a lot of time and money to worthy causes. This will not be a exception..

She looks hotter with her hair wet. It's a good look for her.

I would have preferred to not see all the GM branding on the buckets...the shirt, fine, corvette in the background, meh, but the buckets front and center was a bit of a turn off.

Sorry, I was too busy being distracted by the buckets to notice what it was

I believe that the "Ice Bucket Challenge" was supposed to be about ALS. I've seen what ALS can do to someone.

The "Ice Bucket Challenge" has become another form of "selfie" for people who want to be seen and where getting doused with ice water is more important than finding a cure for the disease.

Who cares about the labels on a bucket when the bucket could be the source of a cure.

    Some truth here.

What if GM donated $1.00 for each vehicle it sold globally?

That would show how much GM actually cares about this and add up to some real money to help research.

Truly sad how little progress has been made on this disease.

    I agree 100%

And I care, and so should you. Here's why.

How about, instead of all the GM PR, the buckets said "Let's find a cure" and instead of being filled with ice water, were filled with 100 dollar bills from all the employees around her. How about instead of the bowtie on her shirt, it said ALS so people know it's about that and not about a selfie op. How about instead of the Camaro, it was an armored car filled with all the other 100 dollar bills that couldn't fit in the buckets because there are so many GM employees? How about instead of flapping her yap about her and other people, talking about finding a cure for the people who are suffering?

Of course if people made it about the cause instead of themselves as the challenge is set up to do, then it wouldn't be as popular as it is, and that is truly the real problem with society right there.

Even in the dark woods of good old Germany nearly everybody knows that ice water on heads means something about a strange disease...

Re: Ice Bucket Challenge: Opel CEO Dr. Neumann

CNBC all-stars go on a back slapping selfie mission to make themselves look wonderful, l would have nominated GM employees to take a hit with a bucket of ice to raise some money for the poor people of Detroit that can't afford to pay for their water or have the luxury of a bucket of frozen water.

CNBC all-Stars need to think more about the little man in Detroit, rather than promoting themselves.

Not to many Ice bucket challenges for the poor and needy of Detroit? Wall Street have forgot about the little man.
