Motor Trend Compares all new Escalade to the refreshed Navigator with Poll

Check out the Motor Trend article comparing the original domestic luxury SUV - the Navigator to the all new Escalade. They have a poll which so far is overwhelmingly in Cadillac's favor. They have some really nice high resolution pictures of the Escalade.

The Escalade's interior shames the Navigator. Excellent job GM!!!

Navigator is older than sin. Not much of a comparison. The new one will probably give the Escalade a run for its money.

Navigator at this point is more of a Yukon Denali competitor IMHO. The Escalade is a cut above it in almost everything, including price.

The next one better be good.

I've talked to someone about this on another site that confirmed it Navigator isn't even being bench-marked at Cadillac too low for them.

Oh wow. Sitting next to the new Escalade, the Navigator looks so outclassed, outgunned and outdated. Who would buy that thing?

    In what way?

The "New" Navigator has a new engine but the same basic interior which doesn't even compare well to the Tahoe/Suburban LTZ or Yukon Denali much less the Escalade which is world class. The Navigator when new didn't sell well against the more expensive Escalade or Denali SUVs despite the fact that the Navigator was cheaper. I can't imagine anyone but die hard blue oval loyalists will even consider the Navigator against the Denali and Escalade's far superior interior.

The Escalade is clearly a superior vehicle, although at a much higher price. Lincoln needs to go full stop in the next one, full aluminum body and everything.

I think he meant the new one due in 2 years from now, the ALL NEW from the ground up Navigator

The jury will remain out until then. I expect that Cadillac will continually improve this truck with a new 8-speed automatic, platinum editions and other items still yet to be seen. Even when the Navigator was new - it didn't compete well with the Escalade and that was before the massively updated interior.

All the more reason for Cadillac to launch a preemptive attack with a true world class point of differentiation like an executive flagship Platinum trim to donkey punch Lincoln in the face so there's no confusion as to who's playing second fiddle.

Ouch. I wonder who ok'd that face for the Navigator? It literally looks like it's grimacing in terror at being next to that Escalade in comparison.

I expect the next Navigator to be a Ford Edge with extra chrome. Why? Because Lincoln blows.

This Navigatoris a stop gap just like the 08-09 Taurus, the next Gen Expy will be out in 2 years so its better to give it some ummmm than leaving it untouched

Re: Motor Trend Compares all new Escalade to the refreshed Navigator with Poll

I wouldn't expect the Navigator to stack up particularly well with the new Escalade. That being said, the cosmetic changes made by Lincoln are a nice improvement.
Drives a 2019 Cadillac ATS Coupe and a 1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA.

In the past, I've had a 5th gen Camaro, a CTS sedan and coupe, two 3rd gen Firebird Formulas, a convertible 4th gen Trans Am, a Reatta, a couple of Monte Carlos, an Avenger coupe, a couple of Cavalier hatchbacks, a Saturn SC1, and a Cherokee.
