Perhaps some XT5 customers anticipating the imminent arrival of the XT6?
and I will concede that maybe I need to look at a bigger picture as we now have four Cadillac Utilities where before there was two XT5 and Escalade

So now, GM has bloated XT4 inventory because buyers don't like either the vehicle or the price. Here's the problem I see, half of the new XT4's sales are coming at the expense of XT5 sales, so adding any incentives could make that sales bleed even worse. GM looks to be making the same mistake it did splitting the Sigma CTS market into two (ATS/CTS), it's fine to offer a larger compact Utility but they have to know that brings consequences for sales and pricing of the mid sizer directly above.

All of this turned the wrong way when Cadillac went away from the SRX formula that was working, all it had to do was keep that size and add another Utility between it and the Escalade but no, GM knew better and now basically offer two vehicles that seem to be competing for the same customer grouping and adding a larger uninspiring XT6 above..
As usual, there has been zero marketing. How do you expect them to sell, really? GM over-prices them, and than doesn't market them. Same thing for 25 or so years, with only an exception here and there. Camaro5 and Volt come to mind. They really have to be stupid.

    June......2,346 /......0....4.724 / 5,191...14,106 /...0...26,396 / 31,890

    .................XT4......drop in XT5...........Nett increase

    May..........2,336.....-1,888.........................6,733
    June.........2,346........-467.........................8,612

So, an increase in combined YTD XT4 + XT5 sales of 8,612 over 2018 XT5 sales, the collateral damage seems to be the loss of 5,853 XT5 sales

And the general public has ZERO awareness of this vehicle. I wish I could have gotten one of those six-figure do-nothing jobs at GM. WHERE THE HELL IS YOUR ADVERTISING?????

Re: Incentive Alert: New Cadillac XT4

Our ATS lease is expiring and we test drove the XT4... Both the X1 and the X3 are better than this vehicle. The CX-5 is better than this vehicle.

The ATS drove great, the XT4 did not drive better than my mother-in-laws Equinox.

I thought the steering was terrible. If the steering feel in the ATS is a 10, and the Equinox (very underrated driver BTW) is a 6, then the XT4 is a 3. This is a "Meh" vehicle if there ever was one. Having said that... the packaging of the car was nice, the rear seat room and cargo area was nice, interior was also nice just not as nice as the X models or the Mazda.

I would lease the XT4 for not a penny above 350 a month. Anything more than that and I would rather pay more and get the X1 or X3. Heck, I would rather get the CX-5.

We have GMS pricing and even with that I do not think I would consider another Cadillac.
