Believe me, we had about 50 pages of rapture because of the Continental name. Even after the turd came out it was praised on here by the Ford faithful. But this RWD performance sedan is going to fail because it has a V on the back instead of V Sport. Laughable. I'm sure the hi po version will have something on the badge to differentiate it. Like BMW and Mercedes do. The Ford fanbois will jump on any nitpick they can find.

And I think that was a huge part of the ATS's failure, Cadillac never managed to get the word out. People still have no clue what my car is.

Being that GMI had the mindless, Cadillac idiot customers running around, bumping into walls like idiots because they couldn't comprehend the switch from SRX to XT5 and that didn't happen***, I think everyone will figure out the V change.

*** which is even more impressive because they are alpha-numeric and people can't possibly comprehend them.

Lol. Nobody has said it's "going to fail because it has a V on the back instead of V Sport". If anything, it'd fail because it's just a reskinned ATS and didn't solve any of ATS' core problems (rear leg room, interior space, etc.). The point with V is just that it's watered down the name unnecessarily.

Interesting since GM has not issued a statement that denies its demise.

How long did it take them to issue a statement about CT6 and the others after it was said they were dead?

Wow. I haven't thought about the Continental in months. Do they still make those?

That's the rumor I heard, didn't they make some kind of special door edition to add 100 annual sales or something?

I think it was 80, all they did was ship 80 out to a coach builder to modify. And we had about twenty pages of rapture over that also......

Oh ya. I forgot about that, too. I think there's a member here who called it a "brilliant marketing move" or some such non-sense. Oh well, back to something more interesting...

Do we think Cadillac will shoe-horn the 4.2 V8 into some version of the CT4?

No, but CT5VTTXYZ stands a strong possibility.

This watering down of the V-series brand sounds similar to what GMC has started to do to the Denali name. How are sales of the Denali Ultimate going?

The Camaro is dead. Even selling enough to run production for 3 shifts each day for an entire calendar year won't save it.

Cadillac first kept using the term "Velocity"-series when it first came out but they dont really market it like that anymore. Another change to something that made sense.

...also, I think the praise to Lincoln was going into the ACTUAL NAMEPLATE returning. Not the car they slapped the nameplate on.

You guys are obviously being sarcastic. You cant possibly think fanboys are/were praising the car.
