Yeah, I hate it too, so I made these. There are a lot of other ways Cadillac could have taken that part of the design. I am honestly vexed by the fact that they settled on this as their best effort. At any rate, opine on your favorites...
First, the original.
First, a 4-door coupe take. The roofline is too arched for this method, so it yields a slightly Cruze/200 look to it. Definitely not my favorite.
Next, an upkick to move the focus forward a bit. I used to like this kind of treatment when BMW was the only one with "the Hofmeister Kink." Now everything from the Boxter to the BRZ has it, and I prefer something more like the next render.
This is more to my liking. It's also the closest one to the traditional downward-angled rear quarter glass on the CTS, ATS, etc.--only much more elongated.
Here is something a bit more traditional. American. Upright. Looks a little Charger-esque to me.
Going for a more angular look, this is starting to get good.
Taking the angle steeper, I feel that this is the direction Cadillac should have gone.
