Despite some of the more minor points raised by some posters, most of which seem relatively easy to address with options (e.g., low-profile tires), I still think this car is great-looking. The interior seems to be lightyears ahead of the present generation. I still would like to sit in the car to see if the door-mounted controls are as awkwardly-placed as they seem to be in the picture. Perhaps once you're seated they're relatively accessible? Generally, though, I think Cadillac scored.

I was thinking the same thing... But the photos are certainly appreciated, nonetheless.

It will give the people who live and die by Consumer Reports and would only buy an AcuLexInfin something to b!tch about and say that GM cannot design cars anymore.

I think the car is a thing of beauty ... perhaps when the kids are through college I may have one in my garage. Needs some shiney wheels though.

I love that new interior and bold grille. Very nice! This is a car I'd love to own and could be 100% proud of, no compromises.

The only negative I have is that the tires / wheels are unimpressive, with meaty, grayish rubber and dull finish wheels.

Totally agree. Those tires are embarassing.

I don't know what it is, but the front end of the CTS looks like garbage to me in every photo I see. Don't worry I'm not bashing it - in reality it looks phenominal. I still can't put my finger on it....

Is it me or have they eliminated the fog lamps on this model? That may be something to do with trim, but I thought that was a key touch of the design.

Not to worry, have my '08 STS V6 on order, so I'm not complaining.

I actually like that effect below the fron and rear bumpers on cars! This is one of thos things like the greyish tail light lense look of the licence plate surround on the original CTS. It was hated by so many it became body color after the first year, but apparently peeps like it on Audis as I see them with it all the time and it looks similar to how the early CTS's looked.

Re: GMI Reader Catches 08 CTS!

Is it me or is that grille not as chrome-ly as the other CTSes' shown so far?

P.S. Why are the dual-climate info screens all the way down at knee-level?

Re: GMI Reader Catches 08 CTS!

I believe that there is a bright red available as well, if you go to Cadillac.com, the main page has Jay Leno with the 08 CTS, the one that they show there seems to be bright red.

Also, base wheels are just that, base, thats why there are optional ones too, not everyone wants 29 inch wheels. I personally dont mind how these look, but I would go for the upgrade larger ones if I were purchasing one.

Nice car. I do not care for red. I think it is interesting the photos got out there. Just imagine if GM built a Seville and Fleetwood sized version with similar styling cues on the exterior. The interiors would have to be different tough.

The 2nd to last shot of the rear, is a good look. It makes the car look sophisticated and mature. If only the lower rear bumper wasn't the tacky grey plastic.

    The car definitley look big.
And I'm still not sure what to think of the truncated rear dors. It looks like everything got scrunched to the rear.
The car would benefit from low profile tires too.

I called that the day CTS launched. It's part of my whole "ergonomic" issue with the car.
It might work. But I'm not sure. I'd have to see for myself.
    He complain much.
