If it was possible to blend the XT4's exterior with the Lincoln's interior and drivetrain, I'd have the perfect vehicle.

Everyone thinks this. I don;t get why they are not already putting out the word that its on the way. At this point I'd take the 335HP/278ft-lb 3.6L, although that 2.7L with 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque would be perfect

BMW and Mercedes get cross shopped intensely particularly in the lower segments actually. But yes, I agree the typical Corsair shopper will be more into the traditional Mercedes experience vs. the BMW one.

I’d take the XT4 exterior with a “Platinum” XT4 interior with a bit more luxe to it (like sewn cover to airbag cover thing, I don’t think that’s available, but it looks good on CT6 and other cars).

The Lincoln exteriors are just too boring to my eye, here’s a shot of a Lincoln interior, I think the Corsair. Still not buying the iPad-on-dash thing, even after seeing it in person. It’s more restrained on Caddies.

Now power trains? Lincoln went a step further and it's plain to see. It might be inconsequential in performance as the XT4 is most likely to be lighter and has a more sophisticated transmission.. But Cadillac shouldn't be limiting the choice of engines to one when they clearly have alternatives. The 2.0 will probably be in line with the Corsair's base.. But that optional engine should be countered with a more powerful tuned 2.0 or the 2.7L.
The transmission is the same, the joint GM/Ford Hydra-Matic 9TXX 9-speed automatic transmission. Ford decided to not go for the 9T, becouse the gearbox failed to meet efficiency expectations. Ford modified the 9T into a 8T that is about 40 lbs lighter. Fords 8T is made in Michigan and GM's 9T is made at GM’s San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico, and in China

Every comment on the Autoblog website for this comparison favors the Corsair over the XT4.

That guarantees great success. Everyone knows that posts on internet forums correlate directly to sales.

I would still get the Cadillac. Lincoln is too much of a grandma brand.

This is it. Cadillac has a more favorable view among younger buyers because of performance cars like the ATS-V and the Cadillac racing programs.

I overhear my kids friends talk about cars and Cadillac's name is in the mix. No one talks about Lincoln.

I work with kids and they go squirrelly when they see a V Cadillac...Lol even if it’s an old regular cts that some young guy has modified to look and sound like a V.

And XT4 interior for me...the problem with Lincoln interior is that it reminds me of the 70’s/80’s. I’m of that age where I want a classy and elegant interior and I can afford to buy what I like. I wonder the age range of Lincoln fans and whether they actually buy luxury cars.

For what it’s worth, at the show I did see some younger guys checking out the Vs and quoting HP numbers. Also, saying things like “yeah my dad had one”...not a V I assume!

In your perfect vehicle, which colors would you select?

The XT4 engine reaches peak torque at 1500 rpm through 4000. When does the Lincoln? Do we know if the XT4 can fit a V6?

Somebody must be measuring the cargo volume differently. That's too big a difference.

Part of the problem that you don't hear your kids talking about Cadillac is GM's marketing. When people hear I drive a Cadillac they mock me, until they see my ATS, then they have very favorable "that is cool" reactions. They have no idea what an ATS is, they have zero exposure to one. No one is going to talk about it if they don't know it exists. I've asked a few people what they pictured in their heads when I said I drive a Cadillac; they picture a giant, old mans barge. Cadillac needs to do more to get the word out. They need more Led Zep commercials to capture peoples attention on the tv. They need more youthful vehicles and commercials for the XT4 (which I think Cadillac, for once, is doing a great job marketing).

Cadillac needs to spend $$$ putting their cars into video games (maybe they do?) and inserting advertising where the kids go, GM needs to build awareness in the future generations.
