Rock Brocaine... Seriously? I say just from this pic alone they have upped the ante interior.. and I think the current CTS interior is very nice and quite competitive almost 6 years later... this one looks very promising
Hey Black GTP.. looks like they have the door trim now including that brushed trim U were asking for
I thinks this is a winner. I'd take it over the 3,C,A4 anyday.
I like the evolution of the front and rear...the side profile is not appealing, especially when you get to the C-pillar abortion! Reminds me of the Chrysler 200. Cadillac took the beautiful CTS and turned it into an ordinary, "me-too" sedan. Very disappointing!
I wish they all could be California squirrels!
Past Rides: 2003 Grand Am GT1 (saved me), 1995 Bonneville SLE (RIP), 1986 635 CSi, 1984 Estate Wagon, 1978 Malibu Classic, 1978 Corvette, 1975 Vega Kammback (Miss ya'), 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger (STFU...it got me there!)
"Nothing happens until something happens then everything happens!"
“The Cadillac CT5 is meant to overwhelm all of the senses..."
Put me in the underwhelmed group. Don't hate it. Just "meh".
Maybe it will grow on me...but a Cadillac design should never have to "grow" on anyone.
My guy at the Tech Center called it. Just "OK".

They got away with the black plastic bit behind the XT4 door. This larger piece will be problematic on light colored cars.
Why is the wood color so close to the tan leather? Dumb. It doesn't have to be a huge contrast, but they've been putting dark wood on black, so it must be intentional.
Is it any wider than the CTS?
Come on people. Some of the complaints are based on preferences not shown, but U know are going to be available. For example.. if U hate wood in general and want carbon fiber.. but they didn't show carbon fiber in these very limited pics.. so "I hate it because there is no carbon fiber." But what if there is.. and they just didn't show it in this SURPRISE REVEAL three weeks before the show?
BTW... these are GM CGI pics.. meaning the actual car is going to be 70% better looking in real life
At first look, I like this. The front proportions look a lot like a Camaro, but in a good way. It has an aggressive look with that sculpted hood and lower stance. The side of the car reminds me of Infinity, or vaguely of a C-Class. I see they wanted to make sure rear head room would not be a knock against this car - they probably succeeded. I'm with the masses here in not understanding that c-pillar.
Scrolling back up to view the pics again, the side profile of the gray car is giving me a Charger vibe. Mainly for the rear headroom and trunk/spoiler look above all else. So not in a bad way. I think the dimensions of this car work. I'll reserve full judgement for after it can be seen/driven.
1999 Tahoe 4x4 - daily driver
1999 Camaro Z28 - bolt-on weekend vehicle
2015 Equinox LTX - wife's car
If you take out that weird fake window, the side profile looks at lot like the first gen CTS. It's a very solid starting point. The rear is finally given the same time as the rest of the car with the beautiful tails and the front looks very Cadillac. A very solid redo.
I guess I'm in the minority but that looks classy and sporty, I dig it! In this market who knows if it will sell well but I think it has a fighting chance
