Like I said, 150mi range can handle 90% of use cases. 200-300 miles can handle 9% of the outliers and anything over? those are your "hard breaks" i.e. "unacceptable drawbacks" in EV usage that'll require that 1hr break to charge up for another 2-3 hundred miles.

Right. Who shops for a vehicle that meets only 90%/98% of their need? I want a vehicle that meets 100% of my needs. EVs aren't there yet.

Miniscule is not zero. Are you willing to give that up to buy an EV? I'd bet that most people aren't willing to.

You drive a Pickup right? What would you do if you need to move more than 4 passengers? I would call it a 1% scenario that a pickup doesn't meet. Not trying to be an arse, but all I'm pointing out is that every vehicle has a "1% limitation".

True, there are always compromises, but a range limited EV adds additional compromises to the situation. ICE's still have a significant advantage in this area.

Most people are willing to give up a ton of personal freedoms in the name of progress,saftey and looking the part while not really being of that part.\

EV's are for those that can afford it not those of us that are filthy and useless. There will be "ride sharing" services like Waymo where you'll sit in your sealed off pod until dumped at your place of employment (if that will still be a thing).

Most people? Based on what data? EVs are a miniscule portion of vehicles sold because they're a huge compromise right now. The gap is going to close over the next few years, but there will still be a gap. I still think going all EV within ~5 years is premature.

The gang at Caddy Society are saying all current ICE Caddys will still be for sale in 2025:

In other words the EVs will be added to the ICEs not replace them, at least initially. If this is correct, CT4/CT5 doesn’t die in 2023/2024 as has been rumored.

Of course the ICEs will eventually die off, but doing it this way would let Caddy manage the transition over the years. Again, assuming this is correct.

Ed has supplier level information that has 2023 as a drop dead date on the CT4/5...remember LGR will undergo a retooling to convert to 100% EV production by 2024. I take that information that we already know over this general article that doesn't mention those two specifically as staying on for 2025. If anything, it points to the more logical conclusion that their crossovers XT4/5/6 are the most likely to make it to 2025.

Thanks for the info, yes I had seen Ed’s posts about 2023. I don’t remember hearing LGR was definitely going EV, is that officially announced at this point? The stuff I’ve seen says it’s possible but not a done deal.
