Underwhelming! Poor space utilisation, terrible suspension, poor value - wouldn't make my long list.

Ironically he has, from my memory, given the CTS, ATS, and even CT5 and 6.. Great reviews.. Why? Because perhaps they are more Euro spec'd, while the Escalade is the most old school American Caddy avail. Think about it. The seats comments. They are the opposite of what people say about the CT vehicles..Euro people like what they like..

Escalade is a hate it or love it kinda product. If you don't like it, who the **** cares? Those are the exact kind that Cadillac should be building.

Obviously, you don’t get it. This is not a vehicle for Europe

I get that in the "land of big" then space efficiency means little or nothing - I was surprised at the comments about the suspension and poor ride, I expected smooth ride even if handling was somewhat soft - value is the same the world over.

How much of Cadillac is image over substance?

You just need to ride one of these rigs on an interstate, they are ideal for it. Probably they tightened the magnetic ride settings for Europe

It doesn't matter. Luxury trucks are a statement.

This is why the Mercedes G-wagen has remained so popular. It's true to itself and its audience adores it.

Your practical needs are for poor people.

This is the nature of luxury brands.

My leather briefcase has no utility over a canvas tote. It's just a stylish way to take my laptop to work.

The Mercedes E-class doesn't get you to the store any more effectively than a Camry but it remains popular and expensive.

Luxury requires -some- substance to turn tangibles into folklore, but once the story is established the brand carries the rest.

Obviously you think the European defination of luxury is the correct one, if it were, no one would buy these vehicles. Its not,

It's an honest review and points to a common theme with some GM vehicles outside of their home market

Usually overpriced compared to opposition and that makes the prospective owner more critical than perhaps they should be

The person is a honest reviewer, that's for sure. The Truck is not for his market and its not made for his market. Take the Land Cruiser and its LX 470 sisters, less power, worse space utilization, offroad suspension not suited for highway, thirsty and weak V8's, yet.. very popular in your country.

The 200 series isn't that popular really

It's a very small market they sell , but not strongly

The (19)79 series is basically the same sort of deal

POpular for some reason but absolutely rubbish

It does need luxury substance to back up the image.
