Fleetwood or Brougham (sp?) should be luxurious trim Name packages, not Model names... Bring back the Ville's or any of the French inspired names, or even "Series" cars with the Number spelled out... (SixtySix or SeventyFive)

OK Here we go!!! Where are the folks on here who screamed they would never buy a Cadillac again if they switched to names from XT# and CT#

There were several on here who said they would and said Lincoln's approach was stupid.

Personally I’m fine with alphanumeric, like Tesla the market leader. But whatever, as long as the vehicle is good.

I don't care what they call 'em.

The wife drives the Cadillac, so I asked her what she thought of a Cadillac EV. She was receptive to the idea.
So if we're still kickin' sometime in the 2030's, we may buy one. We'll still have gas vehicles, so one of the fleet can be electric.
Her XTS only has 36K miles and she drives 6K miles a year, so it'll take till 2030 to even get to 100K miles.

HELL YEAH!!! I Needed That.. Good Thing someone said it cause a Cadillac thread just isn't complete without a snarky comment .. Imagine some people at a celebratory party.. then after talking with them a about the positive aspects .. they go right into the negative.. and suddenly U're standing on the ledge being talked down from jumping

As always.. Negative Nellys Abundant. After 15 years minimum.. of so called enthusiasts asking for names to return.. we get the same haters back at it claiming that Cadillac doesn't know what it wants to be.. Gotta wonder.. back in 1943.. if your grand fathers went on a rant about how Cadillac was changing to names instead of having "Series Xx" (Yeah.. before BMW) on the cars. Alfred Sloan was a bad guy for changing that I guess.. Fleetwood???? WHY!!! they screamed..

The customer is always right, except in this case, huh Mary?
How many times do we have to explain to GM what we want before they actually get it?

Thank you Johan (or is that JHN??) for setting Cadillac on the road to world luxury domination.
Looks like we will have to wait until the next century for that to happen though

Not Again! Cadillac’s Naming Convention Adds a New Designation

Keep them confused and they won't know what they are buying.
Makes it easier to raise them to a higher price point.

    Ugh

    Seriously.

25 years ago - Here's the Fleetwood, Seville, Deville, Eldorado oh and our new gem the Catera.

15 years ago - we're going to switch to CTS, DTS, STS and then add ATS, XTS. Except for the Escalade because that's actually successful.

5 years ago - #TS doesn't work anymore now we're going to XT# and CT#. Nevermind that for the Escalade though.

1 year ago - hey we're going to add a N*m badge to the rear because EV's sometime in the future

Yesterday - Nah forget the alphanumerics we're going back to names.

Negativity is sometimes just what the overoptimistic call common sense. The fact that Caddy keeps course-correcting suggests there's actually no planned course. If you're going to make a decision on how to steer the ship, then own it instead of constantly waffling.

Saw it several times from several posters here I should go back and get the quotes up but there were a few that said names wouldn't fix it and if they did switch back then they'd never buy a Cadillac again.

The EV's are going to be totally new models so I don't see the huge problem. But then some will complain about anything.
