I remember when Eldorado and DTS owners used to get teased for slapping on V badges.

But with 300HP from the Northstar, they were just time traveling from the future.

**** that, at least those had V8s.

Now we have a 4 cylinder truck engine powering a V-Series Cadillac.
    Current:

    2016 Cadillac CTS4 2.0T Performance

    2006 GMC Envoy SLT 4x4

I've talked to someone about this on another site that confirmed it Navigator isn't even being bench-marked at Cadillac too low for them.

After this I think I'm done with Cadillac and GM as a whole there is nothing that GM offers that I find compelling to buy and this mess right here is the final nail in the coffin for me.

Here's how C&D puts it about the CT5-V:

"Cadillac did allude to higher-level V models down the road, although we're now wondering what these forthcoming full-bore V models will be called. It seems a safe bet that this upcoming version of the CT5 could use the 4.2-liter Blackwing V-8 from the CT6-V. It sounds to us like a branding strategy similar to that for Mercedes-Benz's AMG models, which come in multiple levels of performance such as C43 and C63."

Wait.. Wha.. Clearly Carlisle meant the cars being Cadillac.. Now they must come up with a new version of the wheel for naming performance models? Good grief.. Tough crowd of non buyers this site has.

"Non buyers" in general are what GM will have to contend with for the CT4-V and CT5-V models announced yesterday. Their marketing dweebs have their work cut out for them.

Sure, let Cadillac be Cadillac in cars while we copy the Germans in how we name our performance models go.....

It's because of GM I am no longer a non-buyer of their cars. Not because I hate GM and thought any other brand was better.....

Now we know what the stupid Nm torque label is for--to distinguish the different levels of V.
