I've said this before, a good looking car doesn't need the distraction of giant, flashy wheels, and they don't help an ugly one. I would much rather have a more comfortable ride.

It's really annoying that you almost always get bigger wheels with higher trims/more power whether you want them or not.

Why, when you can do a single suspension system for both of your appearance lines, as that's all the Y-trim amounts to?

I like the CT6 and CTS face better. The CT4's front resembles an A4. I would be surprised to see a coupe version of the CT4. That is why GM would build the Camaro off this platform.

ATS-CTS-Camaro-CT4-CT5 = Alpha Chassis; The packaging is likely better, being a revise version of the current platform, but it's still on the same (basic) platform.

Yup. We looked at all of them, that have dealers around us. We always want the biggest engine. MB E, Audi 6, Caddy CTS (no good engine though), Caddy CT6 (won't pay 70+ for better engine), BWM 5, even Kia stinger, etc... No Genesis near us so don't know. They ALL had very low profile tires. She loved my 300 V8 but it's not avail. AWD, so I had her drive a grand cherokee V8, she didn't want a SUV, but the engine and that it still fit in our tiny garage sold her. Of course it had larger profile tires, so she's not worried going on a 4-5 hr trip through pothole hell.

To be fair to some of them, they do offer lower profile tires options, but NONE of the dealers order them with these, and None of them would swap them out for us on a new car.

Just saw another nice car with low profiles come into my business neighbor tire shop on a flat bed.

**** low profile tires, and **** Michigan roads. I've gone through 8 Pirellis on my CTS in 2.5 years. It's annoying. Add in 4 rims that are bent to hell, and it's obvious that low profile tires have no business on Michigan "roads".

    Anyways:

I genuinely don't think they changed a thing with the DLO. I get that it's covered in camo and all, but... wow. I expected more. CT5 better bring it, because this clearly didn't.

Unless someone has actually seen the real car, I would say, camouflage works

Like a battered housewife, you just keep coming back for more.

It's the same DLO—Envoy is right. You're expecting more from a company that has proven time and again that they have no interested in exceeding expectations—they want to fall as close to the minimum without being just short.

I've read rumors, "info" or whatever it is that a new Cadillac Escalade interior is the one to watch..not the CT5 or CT4..

The white light is even with the yellow side marker instead of below it.

The hood fills in the recess above the fender and has less slope until the downward curve at the very front, and the side crease is closer to horizontal. The headlight tear track up the fender is gone. This will reduce the wedge appearance quite a bit, but there's still the high trunk lid and same canted greenhouse (CT5 has actual changes there).

The taillights are lower and shorter, and the rear clip is cut in like the ATS front was. The license plate is lower. Again, to reduce the wedge.

The recent unlinkable GMA pic shows the real turn signal in use. It's possible the reverse light is at the top, which would be weird. It could be a horizontal running light going forward on the fender--I don't see how it could turn inward onto the trunk lid, which curves right there.

Considering they didn't change the ATS structurally to speak of and kept costs down, this should look considerably different.

So then the ATS's transition to becoming the CT4 will be like the 5th gen transitioning to the 6th gen?

You need to learn to read between the lines. When people say they've seen something it's because they've been in a focus group, dealer meeting, stockholders presentation etc etc, and they've only seen design studies, not the actual production product.

As we've seen time and time again, a lot happens from then to showroom, most importantly, the beancounters' input.

I know two credible persons, who have seen the production interior of the upcoming Escalade. They both say the same. It's revolutionary new and gorgeous inside and has nothing to do with the current Cadillac interiors(XT4-XT6). Basically its an improved version of the Escala concept interior.
It will set a new standard, no doubt about it.

I'm not counting on it, and one car does not a brand make. Mercedes maintains the same basic level of quality across all of their products.

Cadillac spends more money on the Escalade, wow. Color me impressed, maybe it'll end up nicer than the Navigator.

I'm not holding me breath—I'm taking the wait and see approach vs wait and hope.
