ATS sized Priced against the A3, A Class, and CLA. They're supposedly fixing the rear seat support structure so it frees up more leg room, the old one was poorly designed and really limited it's space.

I'm not sure how/where Cadillac is going to position this car, but it is essentially a second generation ATS.

Taking the same car and one time you place it "up" a segment, it's a huge fail, the next time you place it "down" a segment, it should be a smashing success!

I Think im going to be very disappointing. i can make out the general shape and it doestnt seem much different from the current CTS/ATS minus the front.

What this car really needs is more side glass than the ATS, but that didn't change. Too expensive--but they did change the CTS's.

I’m with you as I believe that CT4 could surface first. CTS is still in production, whereas ATS sedan is no longer made stateside.

It would make more sense to replace the ATS sedan first to fill a hole in the Cadillac Range. Also CT4 which is clearly a heavily revised ATS that replaces all outer panels, but apparently keeps the roof and doors with new skins, looks from the many spy shots to be further along than CT5. We have seen most of CT5’s dashboard, and we haven’t seen the CT4 interior yet, so I could be wrong on that count.

Cadillac will likely announce something in a few weeks as NY show press days are less than 7 weeks away.

Btw. I really love that rim, and is it me, or do those tires have a pretty big footprint, especially for the Luxury variant?

The fact that the Premium Luxury and the Sport version have both been caught at the same time, seems to lend more credence to the notion that CT4 will launch before CT5.

It’s definitely ATS 2.0 so if they price it for the C segment then it should do great. A car size classification is determined by the EPA, so if it is still ATS sized then it is Mid-sized/D segment, not Compact/C segment, regardless of what the price is, or what it is aimed at.

At this point, Cadillac and the rest of GM have to share car platforms I would think.

I really hope this one has a decent back seat and trunk. I would be driving an ATS today if it wasn't so cramped.

He said he hadn't heard anything, but he knows for a fact that the next slew of Cadillac's (the CT6 already has it) were going to be coming from the factory with the revised system.
Can they do reprogramming on the Gen 2 MRC setup, like the ATS Premium RWD had? Your Z06, the ATS-V, and the gen 3 CTS-V are all on the Gen 3 MRC hardware; I know those have a lot more bandwidth of adjustability, but it'd be nice to at least have my ATS tuned for the not-run-flats tires I have.

Gotta be honest.. I don't know. The Z06 got the re-program I believe because it is more used for track. Here is a link to what I had done:

Did they change anything in between the front and rear? It has the ATS's exact DLO. Even shares the same mirrors. Rear looks ripped straight off my CTS, down to the exhaust outlets.

I'm not holding my breath for this thing.

If you look at the Sport variant at that other site's, other site the taillights have an element along the edge that looks similar to XTS. Someone speculated that perhaps the CT4 will have tail lights with the dog leg at the bottom just like the XTS, rather than at the top like the CT6/XT6. That is definitely a possibility.

The Shanghai show is also happening at the same time as NY so I can also see them doing a simultaneous reveal.

Especially if it is CT4. The CTS isn't sold in China afaik.

It's worse than that for those of us in the rust belt. My family has had MB sedans and a Focus RS stupid 35 profiles. After 8 flats and 3 bent rims in 2-3 years, we traded them both. My ATS only had one flat but a bent rim at the same time, but no fricken spare, so I put a full spare in the trunk, and then there was no trunk left.
To be fair, we travel a alot and at odd hours, so after the time we got screwed in rural western PA at 2AM, I couldn't take it anymore.

We have moved on from this stupidity. I get that they look good. We now have 'normal' enough tire profiles, on a 300 and Charger. My wife said never again, and got a Grand Cherokee. Am I the only one that gives two craps about this issue as a buying decision? Maybe there should be a 'rust belt' wheel-tire option?
