I hope GM brings back the "GM" badge to go along with the fig newton rating.

Forget about it) And the horsepower means less than the torque since an EV has a constant, flat torque curve. How do you identify which motor you've optioned for? Torque.

And torque still applies to the current ICE motors just fine. But there really is no need to learn what Newton Meters technically means, just learn the number that you're gunning for. It's not like there's any real correlation to harnessing 400 horses to your vehicle. (What a mess THAT would be)

I'll take a minimum of 400 Newton Meters, please. (400 Newts instead of 400 horses?)

And it's not really a push for metric, engines have been listed in "liters" since the '70s.
I can see a great advertising career opportunity for Newt Gingrich here. Unfortunately the GeniusMasters have zero concept of great advertising.

Oh, "I switched! From Lexus to Chibby. From Ram to Chibby. From Ford to Chibby." Brilliant. I guess PR is too drunk most of the time, so they get their six-to-10-year-old kids to stand in for them.

    JESUS!!!

U folks get riled up over some small stuff. Let Caddy do what they want on the back of their cars. Its a STICKER for all intents.. Get some fishing line and viola.

If U are mad at this U are probably the type that drives around advertising for some dealership with their name stickered on the rear or on some cheap license plate frame they gave U in the price

Let me say what I said in the other thread about this.. when I get into my car... the last thing I care about is something that has nothing to do with the enjoyment of the car.. LET'S DRIVE!!!

You're missing the point! Instead of coming up with a great marketing strategy, or lord forbid, creating the best luxury cars in the world, they are putting numbers on the cars which, A) are inaccurate, and B) nobody's ever heard of what it means...Unless you are some engineer somewhere!

I'm not missing the point. Not at all. Cadillac, after 110 years is knee deep in a conundrum. On one hand they have to be a luxury brand for people who connect with them from 1960-2002.. And virtual sofas on sofas on wheels. Then they have to connect to the new people.. The ones that want sofas in wheels but that can corner like a Corvette.. They bull**** and say I'll pay for a Ciel or Elmiraj.. But if they build one those people never show up with money.. Just ooooohs and ahhhhhs. Hell look at the Benz CL (S-Class Coupe) being put out to pasture.

Cadillac's folly is its history. It was so successful, so epitomizing of luxury that anything they do is judged based on their past. Seriously.. The CTS is renowned as overall the best mid-sized luxo, yet the XTS outsold it even before fleet. CT6 is said to be damn near on oar with the Sclass, even before the V8 debuted.. And there are still some who say its no good. Desperately trying to find fault with something. "awesome luxury vehicle, but because of the back seat console, that I'll never touch, not having radio controls in it, instead of the screens on the seats.. I'll never buy". FOH.

Think about that. Ure missing the point I bet. Pssssst.. Tags don't matter. It's what's underneath that matters. Problem with the tags??? Tell the dealer U want them off before delivery

Actually, tags do matter. Luxury is, for most people, about prestige. There is no prestige in having to explain what a fig newton-meter is.

Just pick a naming scheme AND STICK WITH IT. There is equity in names................ especially ones that have been around, if people are happy with them.

Interesting. Perhaps they are slapping 400 on the back of the XT6 to make it appear as powerful as its crosstown rival (Aviator) to idiots that don't know. *rolls eyes*

I mean SERIOUSLY. As an American auto company, could we receive a bigger slap in the face? At least don't offer this in Cadillac's home market.

I think I may rethink my profession as a Chef. I'm going to see what job vacancies they have over at Cadillac. I'm sure everyone there is making twice what I make without even putting in a blinks worth an effort and with what they've been coming up with I'm sure no degree is involved.

There's also no prestige in your 2.0L badge being shared with cheaper cars. It gives the impression of your engine being pulled from an economy car.

As displacement ceases to matter, power does. This makes sense.

Oh please. People aren't so stupid that they can't figure out power ratings. Nobody has any need to understand the technical meaning of it. It's a number. Just like horsepower is (was).

We figured out horsepower WAY after it ceased to have any usable correlation to the actual number of horses that might pull your wagon. And it carries the same "prestige" as any other rating. 400 Nm is better than 350 Nm, which is better than 312Nm. What number do you need (want)?

This has nothing to do with model names. Those aren't being changed. It's a badge to identify the power rating. It's just the necessary change that comes with the future. EVs you know. It's has to be either Nm or kW. And torque is a more usable number than power.

Doesnt Caddy have a new diesel engine coming out later this year? Diesels tend to have excellent torque numbers. Will they use a TD to designate turbo diesel?
