    Blackwing engine failure

This is disappointing. Perhaps Cadillac ditched this engine because it foresaw issues. *cough* northstar

Yeah. I read in the comments that the creator said it has become an issue for a few owners. Not confidence inspiring. Apparently the owner doesn’t want the car back. I’d probably ditch it after fixed as well. No matter what, it’s a shame Cadillac gave up on this car and the engine

A lot of noise, but not enough information. Looks like a typical clickbait.

A sample of one is not a good sample. But being there were so few made, even one going bad isn't good. Be interesting to keep track of to see if there really is a design flaw or this one is just a lone bad apple.

IMHO not knowing what and why it failed it is hard to "judge" the motor
I have a friend / co-worker that bought a NEW Silverado and a ROD came out of the 5.3L before 10K SHT happens

Yes, but engine failure is engine failure - I'd be upset if my $100k car exploded early in its life.

I clicked but I'm not watching the video. A couple of short paragraphs of text would help. Guess I'll have to remain in the dark.

Will time tell? Or you could do like the "news" media and take one example and blow it up, repeat endlessly and breathlessly for weeks at a time, and in the end the Blackhawk engine is NFG. Oh, Blackwing, I meant Blackwing.

Ha, yes, sadly the media will pick up this one engine and use it as evidence that all GM engines are bad. For the media a sample of one is a complete sample and no need to even check if the story is true!

Shhhh - don't tell Ed I'm being too picky, it will blow his mind!

I think the kindest thing we can say is that the moment for a 4.2 hot Vee has passed,
GM simply proved that it was capable of engineering and delivering a premium engine.
The big hand on its shoulder is the power and cleanliness of battery electric vehicles.

Feel bad for the guy that his engine failed. That sucks. It’s an expensive car. But doesn’t the warranty fix that?
I am on the border of genius and crazy. I keep trying to cross over into genius, but ICE keeps sending me back to the crazy side of the border.

Stating the obvious, dare I say we agree - with so few built, it could be a bad engine, and have no-failures, so this might be REALLY bad..........

Would be like saying the homicide rate in CHAZ, sorry-CHOP, despite it's high per-capita rate, is "only one".
