Everyone has gotten so touchy here lately....Anyway, if it resembles the Escala's screens It will be two separate units, I took you to mean it was one long horizontal screen. If that's not what you meant, my bad...

I don't remember it being stacked like the Escala, but on the prototype it appears to be that way. IIRC it isn't separate 12" screens butted together, like Mercedes. This is more stylish, and looks like it was designed solely for this application, not an off the shelf item.

I really hope not. I can't stand the Acura-esque shifters like that.

TBH, they could do a push button shifter using braille buttons positioned underneath the passenger seat and I'd take that as an improvement over the column shifter they were using.

More seriously, the interior is looking promising. Escalade isn't my sort of vehicle but I'm excited to see what the finished product will look like.

If it is even 50% as good that would be an achievement given its price and target market. I wish Cadillac would take on Range Rover seriously, but we'll see.

I can't recall if the new Escalade had a traditional shifter when I saw it. Perhaps it didn't, which could mean the shifter in the prototypes is a place holder. I do remember that the console was gorgeous and elegant, so we'll just have to wait and see.

So, what do you all think of the possibility that this gets revealed at the LA Auto Show?
I am on the border of genius and crazy. I keep trying to cross over into genius, but ICE keeps sending me back to the crazy side of the border.

Perfect place to launch it. L.A. has to be one of the top markets for the Escalade. Heck, for all I know it is ‘The Top Market’?

If the new Escalade is going to launch at a show, I can’t see it being Chicago, but NY is a strong possibility, but as Cadillac has moved from New York it’s no longer a given that New Cadillacs are revealed there, and I don’t see it being Detroit, as that show moved to the middle of 2020.

Got to be L.A. or at (the best option)a stand alone event.
