In a few short years all of that was abandoned for tech that by design, distracts drivers.
Mazda said they don't like touch screens. Mazdas have the "tacked on" screen too.

Yes, and they're planning to get rid of them altogether, or at least minimize their use.

All I'm saying is the tacked on screen look isn't going to go away just because they're purging touch screens. This isn't a touch screen either:

Mazda will continue to use a similar look.

    +1
Cadillac deserves much better than the GM "parts bin" raid exemplified by the brand's current lineup of crossovers and SUVs, including XT6.

It shares the same wheelbase as the Chevy Blazer, and even shares the same track, front and rear.

I swore I said this would be close to $55k and I got laughed at.
You guys hit on exactly what I came up with when reading Envoy4Life's opener. On top of all of that-then you have to figure in what an AWD model is going to add to this. OUCH! At this point I believe Cadillac is suffering from multiple delusions.

I DESPISE the stuck on displays, especially in the Tesla M3. If it's not somewhat integrated within the dash I will not purchase.

First off, its not an expensive Traverse. It rights on a shorter and wider track and is engineered to deliver the driving experience once expects of a Cadillac.
Cadillac has higher brand recognition than Lincoln, Lincoln has to earn the right to Charge Cadilac prices. Buick Enclave Avernier is really Lincolns competition.

At least wait for the drive before you yell the world is ending. Its not. Cadillac made its RWD SRX, drove like a dream and got Cadillac nowhere.

If the XT5 Platinum is about $9K more than the XT5 Premium Luxury, shouldn't the same roughly hold true for the XT6? That would get you to around $63K for a FWD Platinum ($54K + $9K = $63K)...call it $3K more for AWD.

(There may not be a FWD Platinum, just trying to estimate.)

The lowest XT5 price is two trims down from the Premium Luxury so it's quite a bit cheaper. It's interesting that, apples-to-apples, the XT5 Premium Luxury and XT6 Premium Luxury are just about the same price.

    Re: 2020 Cadillac XT6 Priced from $53,690

I’m personally not worried about the list price because since GM didn’t spent much to create this model the lease prices can be as aggressive as they want them to be.

Extreme over-criticism here, and for a vehicle nobody's driven. I think it looks classy and is priced right, thus will sell well. And importantly, it's much cheaper than the Escalade, while probably having more usable passenger space.

And how did GMI suddenly become a bunch of Lincoln fanboys?

I think a loaded AWD XT5 Platinum is around $68K, so add $3500-$5000K ( just a guess there, and I could be a little high with that amount) for the 7 seat option and XT6 Platinum if one arrives is at $73K max. without Supercruise.

That question should be directed to the marketing dweebs and product planners at GM.

I'll reserve judgement until I have an opportunity to test drive one, but the XT6's lineage doesn't make me optimistic that will be the case. The XT4 my wife and I test drove was among the most insipid vehicles either of us have ever experienced. The magical chassis tuning that I remember in the ATS, CTS, and CT6 was completely missing.

GM's approach with Cadillac crossovers seems to be charging luxury vehicle prices for decidedly quotidian driving dynamics, relying on the brand's heritage and the popularity of crossovers to sustain short term sales growth.

We can't trust your judgement. You think the ELR is awesome for the fact that you picked it up for cheap. Would you have really paid $80k new for it?.
