Hell, at 6'5 I'm buying as big as I can get. It seems like about 50% of the CT5 trims will be cheaper than the ATS while giving you way more standard equipment too.

With this pricing announcement, I'm sure a lot of folks (me included) are eager to read first drive reviews of the CT5. I sincerely hope that GM didn't "dumb down" the chassis and suspension tuning in this car compared to the 3rd gen CTS.
They've already said they've made the car less responsive and tuned it a tad less soft to remove the harshness that Alpha has. The platform is so tight you truly feel everything in the road and in some states that's a terrible thing.

A mostly positive Cadillac thread on GMI? I must be dreaming.

This kind of pricing will generate buzz and showroom traffic for sure, GM better not screw this up.

I'll definitely check both out, but I'm 5' 9" and 160 lbs, no issues for me fitting into cars! Though I totally get your space issues as one of my college roommates was 6' 9". Was always fun watching him wedge himself into a mall car. Remember the LeCar? His sister had one and he brought it on campus a few times - he should've ripped out the drivers seat and sat in the back seat to drive it.

It definitely can use a little softening - I'm in a pothole riddled state - CT. My ATS does not like big potholes, sounds like someone is hitting the car with a sledgehammer when going over a big one.

    Pretty amazing...
My mom's 2008 CTS had an MSRP of $33,675 and had far less equipment than the CT5 will have.
But it did have a CD player.

A smaller wheel option would help, but that would be blasphemy. My city fixes its few potholes but has a zillion manhole covers strategically placed to be unavoidable, and the asphalt turns into a washboard before every stoplight.

You may not be old enough to remember the original "Police Academy" movie. A big former NFLer "actor" did that to an original Honda Civic.

My mom's 2008 CTS had an MSRP of $33,675 and had far less equipment than the CT5 will have.
But it did have a CD player.
And it was the best looking sedan since the 30's.

Aggressive pricing. Wonder if the 3.0TT won’t be available at launch? Not in order guide yet and no mention of it on the Cadillac website when talking about performance. Just mentions 2.0.

WOW, dumbfounded................ pleasantly, though! Heck at this price they can probably get people out of BMW and M-B's!

But, they need to protect residuals and hold firm on that price and not start laying on incentives.
Funny this almost immediately crossed my mind, but only because we had people telling us so........... "The new Cadillac is worth more, because it cost more" I refuted those claims, every chance I got, speaking of?..... Where is Pearl Rider?

Ya, skip the ATS at that price range but have a Chevy Monza that had some of that chassis/power train giddyup. 200+ HP 2.5L + 6speed manual starting < $25,000?

It's official, Buick can die, Cadillac is here to play the part of Premium, GM can't do Luxury, only cheap knock-offs.

I don't think that's true at all. Breaking the BMW/Mercedes stronghold in luxury cars is hard and GM like others need to sell their cars for less to stay in the game.

My office buddy just spent over U$60K on a 340i - he drives it back and forth to work and that's about it. Waste of money but he thinks BMW is the best and will pay whatever. Hard to break those people!

Partly thank the popularity of CUVs. Sedan prices have really been held down by dropping overall demand.

The new G20, or the F30? Either way, it's a shame that your buddy isn't taking advantage of that car's capabilities as a sports sedan.
Tell him about BMW Car Clubs Canada. A single autocross or HPDE event hosted by a BCCC chapter will make him aware of what he's missing.

Not sure - he tells me "it really goes" on the highway. Waste.

If you buy a car like that you have to have some fun with it sometimes. He's like 60, not even a car guy. I think he is just sold on having "the best".
