Posting as I've not seen any other comparisons yet. Seems like they each have their own personality and you get what you pay for. That said, the CT6 seems like an interesting car in its own right.

I saw this video earlier. I'm interested to see how things would go with the 4.2L. Some of the complaints are just personal preferences

Well, he does say that right now the CT6 would be the smart pick below $100k -- at least until the new E-Class comes out. But that provides Cadillac with the opportunity to keep improving the CT6 to out class the new E-Class. The CT6 also looked great in the video -- as it does in person.

This has been my feelings all along. The CT6 is aimed at the E, A6 and 5 which I call the small full size crew. I think it's a good idea the CT8 is delayed. All of the CT6 options like the hybrid system and TTV8 needs to be released along with any modifications.

    CT6 with v6 TT doesn't weight 3600 lbs. It weights 4100+lbs i think.
"Water came through the glovebox after washing..." this must be some additional option for hot summers

well to be fair my weights were sourced from wikipedia so I defer to yours having sources that might involve using a weighbridge

Mercedes site has the S550 at ~4600 so that's not to bad from Caddy

    Re: CT6 versus S550

Not a surprise that a car that is $30,000 (or ~33%) more is a better vehicle. I remember years ago a Vette vs. 911 comparison where the author wrote "the 911 is a better vehicle, but it is not $50,000 better, it is $5,000 better". The actual sticker price was $50k more. I wonder if that applies here as well, which they guy didn't answer, and in retrospect is a personal decision. For me, I don't see $30k in value from the Mercedes, though I think in this case passion greatly outweighs value...

I think what asrapid1 was getting at, is that the comment from the reviewer "2/3 of a Smart Car lighter" is misleading, if not down-right wrong.

    Yeah I got that

The reviewer got quite a few things wrong in the review but it was a pretty balanced overall

What he's saying is you should buy this car now if you can live with all the shortcomings and don't have more than say 90 grand to spend

Content/facts aside, he did pretty good, apparently a "local" Les Stanford Cadillac is about 25 miles down the road from me.

I'm just not sure how many people that spend 90-grand on a car have a "budget"? Personally, if I'm spending 90 G's, I'm going to get at least 2 maybe 3 cars.

True. But Cadillac hasn't had an offering in this space for a long time. So, they aren't likely to capture may existing S-Class buyers/leasers. They might grab some CTS owners looking to move up, or other conquest people who want to move on from a current 5-series/E-Class/A6. For those folks, the CT6 is a step up for only a slightly bigger cost -- assuming they can get the lease right.

Based on this review, the CT6 also seems capable of retaining the XTS crowd as they trade in. Lots of room, V6 and TTV6 and available AWD in a rakish big car (that isn't too big or a huge jump in price) -- I imagine a lot of XTS owners would be happy to move into one of these.

Seems doubtful that true. I often hear number in the 5k's in reviews
