    2017 order guide lists ZL1 LT4 at 650hp 650tq.

So, I guess we have our answer. The 6th gen ZL1 will have 650 hp and 650 tq, just like the Z06, not that I'm surprised.

Nice to see a confirmation, but did we expect less? Its the same engine.

    Damned!

Could GM be allowing the Camaro to move into the same performance realm as the Corvette knowing that, fairly soon, the Corvette will be occupying a much more exotic space (aka mid-engined)? When the Gen 5 Camaro ZL-1 was released, there was also a ZR1 Vette sitting on the top of the performance envelope. As of right now, the top Camaro and Vette will be awfully close to each other, performance-wise (not to mention the handling prowess of the 6th gen Camaro).

I think you might not realize, just how damn fast a Z06 is on a track. It basically puts down HyperCar type of performance. Yeah, La Ferrari, 918, etc.. the power will not get Camaro anywhere near a Z06.

The Z06 is a dry-sump design. It probably has more hp due to reduced windage losses and other minor details. The more interesting question for me is: does this mean the ZL1 will get the dry-sump as well?

No. It's pretty likely GM is waiting until the 50th anniversary celebration to release final weight, hp and pricing.

Is anyone really surprised? Al O. said they wouldn't sandbag the car.

the list would take me forever to type of all the times gm has changed hp ratings for different cars, even if they were identical.

The hint on weight that was given was a 200 pound weight loss compared to the old car, the old ZL1 coupe had a base curb weight of 4,120 pounds so that would mean 3,920 pounds.
