    Next-Gen Colorado Spotted in Michigan

    Hello Everyone,

I spotted the Next-Generation Colorado on I-275 today on my way home from work. Looks to me like they were doing standard pre-production testing, air dynamics, millage, engine performance, etc. I must say that I really liked what they are doing the design. I also felt like the current Colorado and Canyon just weren't big enough, and lacked basic essentials, such as an optional V8, good gas millage, good price, interior quality, etc.

Anyhow, I loved the front end, it looks as if they are taking the front grill from the Malibu, and the front grill from the Traverse and are adapting it to fit the truck style. I did notice how the hood bevel upward, giving the impression of power and a muscular stance. I also liked how they are increasing the trucks size, it is now several inches longer, taller and wider (Typical GM fashion).

Anyhow, I really hope they address the fuel efficiency, what GM really needs right now is a 30-35 MPG highway pick up truck, with good performance and a starting sticker price of 20-22k.

Well take a look, and let me know what you think. I wish the quality of the photos were better, but I think they will give you an idea of what I saw. Has anyone else seen this yet?

Current one isn't bad. Redesign the interior, refresh the exterior. Upgrade to 6 speed-auto.

Add DI to both Alpha engine.

If the current one isn't big enough, get a Silverado.

It seems like they've amped up the fleetside look, that's okay. I wonder what the new engine selection will be. There were rumors that H3 was supposed to go V6 so maybe that's the plan for Colorado too.

Hmmmm, they must be getting ready for its 7 year MCE.

Sorry, but the Colorado is a bit stale. Yes, I know the Ranger is worse.

This reveals like......nothing, but anything is better than the current one and knowing GM, the design should be killer.

looks like it might look like a miniture silverado, just guessing because of the wheel arches. that wouldnt be a bad thing. i think the silverado is the best looking truck right now

I think I know the identity of this tester. It's not a GM BUT I think this might be a mule for the next gen Ford ranger note both the rear wheel arches and the similar looking front end when compared to other known shots of the new ranger.

In addition I think this would be one of the first sightings of a Ranger tester here in the states (it has stayed in Europe for the most part)

That's what I thought when I first saw it, looks like a Ranger.

I am sorry to hear they made it bigger. Is any company going to build a compact truck? I think Toyota was on to something with their ABAT. Some of us don't need to haul a lot or tow, but we do want the versatility that a compact truck gives you. I hope GMC builds the Denali XT Hybrid.

Ford and GM still do. It's hard to build a small truck and charge small-truck prices for them, which is part of the reason why they keep getting bigger.

While the rear looks like it could be that Ranger, the front looks too blunt in the newer photos. Granted you can't see much, and I kinda want it to be the Colorado, but based on the photos and description by Alveress, I'm leaning towards Colorado. Plus, why would they need so much camo across the tailgate unless there was an embossed "Chevrolet" across it?
