Obama had nothing to do with it the MARKET decided that 2 seaters are a NO GO and stopped buying them and increased cafe standards did NOT HELP but did NOT kill the 2 seater segment ether

GM doesn't even build a regular cab Colorado overseas unless you want a chassis cab.

I thought the omission of the reg cab was CAFE related, hence the thanks Obama remark even tho CAFE was passed under W...I was being sarcastic

Obama? W? You guys are off by a few presidents. Go back 4 more presidents. Sure, following presidents tinkered with the numbers, but that awful idea (CAFE) was passed under the peanut farmer.

My bad...I wasn't born back then so I don't know much about Carter other than the Iran Hostage Crisis, even then my knowledge of that subject is sketchy....at best.

The "vehicle's overall footprint" part of CAFE did come from the Obama administration and that is why we don't have the RCSB at all now.

As mentioned before that's a feed of ****

Single cabs (or regular cabs) are a thing of the past worldwide you just cant get them with a tub only in a work truck spec cab chassis

That goes for all brands not just GM

Once people were offered space cabs with suicide doors that could seat 4 or more people they voted with their wallets

I LOVE your anecdote here. I'm going to use it with the occasional Troll. Thanks.

I guess my opinion doesn't matter anymore because the day after I posted the above my boss cut my position.
Kind of hard to want to get into vehicle payments while unemployed. So for now I get to keep my 2001 Cherokee.

Just don't try it on me because I have diplomatic immunity.

Failing that, I'll simply lie down on the floor and commence to kick and scream. Works every time with my mother although it's admittedly a hassle going to the retirement home just to get my way.
It sounded pretty good until I actually said it.

I am wondering what powertrain it will use. My guess is that the 2.7 L turbo becomes the upmarket engine............

A mild hybrid based on the 2.5L, similar to FCA’s eTorque, would be an interesting base engine. The electric motor should help the 2.5L performance and towing and MPG. GM seems to be abandoning Voltec-style hybrids, maybe they’ll take another look at mild hybrids?

The 2.7T would then be the option.
