Why do I feel Cadillac won't get a MUCH NEEDED version of this car? I say "much needed" because of the brand image it would build for Cadillac. A version that probably would have happened under Johan.
Anyhow, I can't wait for this. For C&D to assume it will be only $5,000.00 more (base) than the current Corvette is interesting. Especially considering how GM prices its new models. Guess we will know soon enough.

I dont want to be a debbie downer but I can't be the only one that finds the wheel design/fitment a little off? The rears look to have a heavily positive offset which in turn puts them too far into the fender.
I'm not a huge fan of the design either, but the fitment seems to be on par with the front one, I think that there is some padding under the camo where the intake is, puffing the body out a bit making it seem like it's tucked in the wheel well more. Something just doesn't seem right with it.
Excited, but not excited. Not really impressed by the design, GM has been dropping the ball. I'll wait until the production version drops before I voice my opinion.
I don't know it's hard to get the entire picture under wraps but the rear of the car just looks off to me. I understand the engine now sits over the rear tires but it just looks too stretched out for me. I know one thing I would never buy this as a first year model, I bet there will be lots of growing pains going to a all new design like this.
So I don't follow gossip and rumors much, I'd rather wait for concrete news. So now the path is that this IS the C8? There will not be a front engine/RWD version, with this one being the higher end "Zora" or "Stingray"?
Not sure about that. Corvette has always had great proportions, and a lot of the faithful love it for that. Going with a different configuration changes all that, and I don't see many of the lifelong buyers carrying over. Granted, it will be a great handling layout, and if they got all the bugs out of it that were plaguing the C7 Z06 and such, it will be a contender, but it seems like they're totally abandoning the Corvette lineage with this. It doesn't matter to me really, but I see a big shakeup in the buyers with this generation. Was hoping to have 2 models, but not my call.
Does GM know what's in store for them from the Corvette community? 67 years of history thrown out the window just to be more "Ferrari" and less "American".
The engine is in the wrong place and there won't be a manual transmission available. Coming from a Corvette family I know a few people who will be done with General Motors completely when this falls.
Congratulations GM, you're about to tell one of the largest contingencies of brand loyal enthusiasts in the world to go --ck themselves. Be proud, Mary!
You do understand that the Corvette's continued existence is directly tied to all the engineering changes that Zora did right? And that it was his firm belief that the best Corvette is a RMR Corvette? You do know this right? Being such an "expert" on the subject must afford you such knowledge.
